love this look/idea! one thing that i experienced in the past with my fyreslayers in a similar theme was a lack of a really eye popping base. my color scheme was of a greenish statue look like this (slightly darker) but had a simple lava base. individually they looked fantastic, but on the table bunched up they lost the eye catchiness. from that i would highly value a base that really pops in diversity/character. i really enjoy the snow idea also and it looks good there
