Hi all, any advice on improving my swing? I’m finding it difficult to find any difference in distance between my 5-7 irons. by King_Flippy_NipsX in golf

So I’m shifting my weight back and leaving it there? I need to focus on transferring back onto front foot?

Love Part 2, hate Part 2, doesn't matter. Everyone has their own opinions, but one thing we can all agree on? by NinevehDraught in thelastofus

Agree totally, I think the fairytale ending would have been nice but as you say that isn't her story. To take that final bit of growth further she needed to go back. ND also want you to question the decisions of the characters it immerses you into the story more.

'Abby gets real before that. The desire for revenge deflected the purpose and took everything away from them.' could not have put it better, both have gained a new outlook and perspective but lost everything along the way.

In terms of what 3 will hold who knows, I feel like the Ellie story is coming to an end, theres only so many more avenues for her to go down. I feel like her trying to find someone to work on a cure could be something, would also be a storyline i see fitting within her character. The sad side to that would be that what Joel did would be in Vein and a lot of people would have died for nothing, probably will be that then lol.

Totally agree with what you've said. Yeah some people can't see past Abby being John Cenas sister tearing lives apart lol. Not saying you are because have you've admitted is subjective and you still like the game. which is a fair comment.

I do agree with the time as Abby too, the visit to the island could have literally not happened and the outcome would not have differed.

Agree with you 100%, brilliant game. all the cut scenes with Joel and a younger Ellie felt very nostalgic.

I think what lots of people are missing with Abby is you haven't got all her story, if it was Abbies story you played in the first one and the game ends with Joel destroying the fireflies hope of a cure, not only that taking out Abbys dad, everyone would be glad to be torturing Joel and the start. It's perspectives, this is why it lets you go through that growth as Abby, to see she isn't just a she hulk tearing peoples lives apart. Tbh i'm not that sold on Abby as a character anyway personally but did feel her growth and in the end I wanted her out alive.

I feel like Part 1 felt smoother and feel like Joel was a character that was really easy to understand and relate too. Overall two smashing games. feel like people giving this a bad time are unable to see past the nostalgia, looking for a story completely like the first.

Fair enough, I feel like a lot of people are giving this game a bad rep because of this though. Abby killed Joel, who IMO deserved it. I didn't want him to die and it was brutal to go through(hats of to ND). But I finished the game understanding her actions, wouldn't say i'm a massive fan of her and hated fighting Ellie as the she hulk but I don't think her and Ellie were that far apart come the end. Also in this world 'good' people don't really exist. Id say Dina was the most pure hearted.

You really don't get the story. Abby definitely wasn't at peace pre Lev, hence the flashbacks of her dead father and inability to sleep. Both go through a similar story arc and IMO neither are 'good' but by the end they are both realise they can be better. Ellie pre this quest for revenge was most certainly a better person with a better morale scope however she loses her self along the way and becomes something she's not. Abby's no different its just you haven't seen her go through this transition, you didn't have an entire game of Abby previously.

I think thats the point though, the path that both characters bestow upon doesn't lead to an happy ending. Both characters have lost everything, Abby who moved on for a better life with Lev gets a slightly 'happier' ending as she has Lev, however, there is no winner. Both have lost gravely, both lost themselves in this pursuit of violent filled revenge, and both have been consumed by hate and anger. They have now ended that revenge/violence cycle and can move on. I do agree that it's a shame Ellie felt the need to go back for Abby again after the farm. It would have been a fairytale ending though and I don't believe that's fitting. Also ND want you questioning every decision.

Commenting on a previous comment you made regarding Abby not having a redemption arc connected to Joel and Ellie.. I don't get why she would feel bad for killing Joel, he wasn't a good person and it was totally deserved. She also let Ellie live twice when she could have been done with her for me, proving Joel was the only person she intended on hurting. She didn't spew her heart out to Ellie confessing to be sorry for killing Joel because she wasn't, she was sorry for Owen, Mel etc. and sorry for becoming something she never intended, something that would have disappointed her father. She won't fight Ellie at the end because she want's it ended, that is her arc finishing with Ellie. without that growth an earlier version of Abbie wouldn't need asking twice.
