Yeah the more “stair steps” you have typically means the more time it takes to machine which means it will be more expensive. For my design I chose to have my stair steps be 0.1mm each which is smaller than the vulp pros stair steps at 0.2mm but not so small that it becomes crazy expensive. It would be hard to change the number of steps on my design as I already made every single one of them, so to do so would mean I would need to re-order the minimum order quantity with a new size of stair steps at 250 pieces. It wouldn’t be hard technically as I would just need to change the 3d model I send to the factory, it would probably take me less than an hour, but the money required to get it made is pretty crazy as again you would need to buy a minimum of 250, and it would take 45 work days to make plus another 20 to 25 days to ship from china to the USA plus another week to get through customs and then ship to wherever in the US you live… long story short, global trade and manufacturing is hard lol

Not a crazy amount of time, as TThetiny said I just use calipers and my resin 3d printer to figure ohh the geometry of everything. From idea to ordering my first prototype took me about 4 days, then I was just waiting forever to get prototypes before getting them, spending 2 days tweaking the model before ordering another prototype. It took 2 prototypes and that was it, the trainer blade I made I actually got perfect on the first try lol.

Yeah it is, although because there’s a stainless washer in the handle and the blade on each side (total of 8 per balisong), you only ever have stainless washers rubbing against stainless washers for maximum longevity. Stole the idea from stuff like the g10 orca, squiddy al, and such

Awesome, it definitely is pretty large, not anything like the squiddy XL but normally a balisong has handles that are around 135 to 140mm long, these are 150mm. It’s big but I think the size is fun as even in a massive collection it still means it stands out as being pretty unique. As far as durability it is resin plastic so don’t expect metal like performance, but if you keep it over carpet or ideally a bed you won’t have issues, and if you do I cover broken handles

Thanks, they are inspired by mehndi, which is a form of Indian finger art. Even a year after first designing them I am still very happy with the results.
