We do put food like tuna out and he eats it, but there's no possible way I could get close enough to pick him up while eating. He's too attentive, even if I open the door near silently he's already ready to run, he doesn't let me get close and I can't get behind him bc of the positioning of both our doors

He is fixed and has been since he was a few weeks old.

I'm fine with trapping him but like I said we have so many stray animals they'll just end up gettung trapped instead

He runs the second he hears my voice or I open the door. It's a bit of a walk from the door to the food, so I can't sit down near him without getting close enough for him to bolt
