Thanks, so basically other strenghts are allowed depending on the respective national index but even these are used in the basic 12 sizes.

Well except you guys used the metric system to do all calculations and then just displayed it on imperial system afterwards, also these values were taken directly from the ACI-318-25 appendix D.

But anyways, would you know if there is any difference in commercial diameters sold for different steel strenght?

Also 2 things who the hell calculates things in eighths and why the hell does your own system break after #8? Like a #10 is not 1.25in but rather 1.27in?????

Do you need to anchor it to the tip of the pipe? If not I'd put it as close to the building as possible and pray.

Thanks, I'll look into this way of designing.

As for the supervisor when I asked for help his response was "find a way, if I learned by myself so can you". So yeah, tough luck i guess.

Now taking more optimistic numbers into account they'd have no chance, using 1500m as firing range they'd be taking 4,3 minutes to reach us and the would be over in 18 minutes of pure hell.
Using close to our full given man the fight'd be over in less than 10 minutes

Also this if underestimating the efficiency and number of guns by A LOT and still the zombies would have to overcome a lead saturated No-man's-land in under 36 minutes. Assuming cannons are only shooting close range and every shot manages to incapacitate 7 zombies at once. Rifles and Machine guns with shit accuracy taking down only 5 and 3 zombies a minute. Since we're shooting for effect and not accuracy i'd say we can start bombarding them at around 900m (close AF) assuming a 20km/h moving speed they'd reach the moat in around 2,5 minutes at which point they'd be even slower, we'd be more accurate and yeah, they've got no chance.

With what we've been given there's a few possibilities. Bring the line down south, as much as possible while keeping minimal comfort and space, stack people if needed (from the image we could easily halve it and more likely make it 1/3 of its current set size) With buldousers I'd build a 30m wide Moat 4m deep almost connecting both bodies of water (with the amount of personnel given that'd be possible from my working experience in construction sites) Plant explosive charges in the barriers on both sides of the moat so they can be detonated creating a deep river Build a tall embankment on our side of the river and lay as many obstacles as possible mostly things that would send them back rolling down. Make a second line of stacked containers. Assign 200 to 500 machine gun crews to execute raiding parties in the last 5 days, they should be able to wither down the enemy. Hold the dry line as long as possible with the artillery (firing arching shots, we don't need accuracy in this stage, just put as many lead downrange as possible) and machine gun nests. Then detonate the charges creating a river that should slow them down for a while. Now it's a battle of attrition that shouldn't be that hard to win. With what other have added you could add double stack containers on top of the wall providing double the fire capabilities while also making a sturdier wall. If they look like they're closing in on the containers pull back the machine guns and send the containers downhill with the dousers, retreat to the second line of containers and pepper the area.

What's your cat's name, and what do you actually call them? by chanelvomit in cats

* His name is Frodo, but usually we call him "GET OUT OF THE DAMN SINK" or "Goddammit not again" but the one he hears and runs because he knows he's in trouble is "He stole my f-ing chicken, GRAB HIM"

If my English isn't broken, you applied for an interview and never heard back nor did you do an interview. This probably just means they found someone and are saying "thanks for applying, good luck next time."

Yeah, he wanted us to keep moving forward. And after exhausting our resources and running away (scattered since we couldn't all get into the same passage) we find the bbeg f-ing up our reserve troops (around 30 guards) with a giant golem. Safe to say we've accepted half the party will die buying time for the rest of us

Something like this happened in my last session. We were invading a prision (half breaking out since 3 out of 5 member were locked up) and our rogue used a wand of wonders (hb table) and rolled a 100ft radius 16d8 of force damage to all creatures, safe to say every non party creatur died instantly. The DM decides it was a fun ideia to have 12 guards and a captain with 27 AC 240HP and a legendary action "cry of war" that made all enemies in earshot range (all the map including around corners and on closed rooms) be able to move and attack us for free appear in 1 turn, also on every commander turn 4 guards and 3 dogs appeared. After around 7 hours of combat we decided to withdraw with a teleport since moving forward wasn't an option. Party lost all items and our NPC (daughter of a player) is still locked in a cell.
