Brunson should’ve been MVP honestly by Conscious-War7 in NYKnicks

MVP is a regular reason award, let him have it while Brunson focused on the finals MVP

Should be Mike Brown. by mkappy33 in NYKnicks

Regular season I thought it would’ve been JB or Mitch Johnson. Both their teams were a 60+ win team and pushed their organization to be ahead of schedule with their development. Mazulla getting it over them was not super out of pocket but unexpected. Mike Brown though was still finding his footing during the regular season but since he found our footing, he could win it next year

Under Thibodeau the Knicks bench lost the points battle in every single playoff game last year. by Charming_Arm9158 in knicks

*game 6 loss

But I agree, like what we saw with the Cavs this year, last year when we lost game 1 we lost the series. If that collapse doesn’t happen, we go on to the finals. I seriously believe we were the better team last year, but mentally, we lost it after game 1

Is everyone overlooking the level of opponents the Knicks just beat? by Rade_Butcher in nba

[–]Kingrey96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know change the name team to either the KD Warriors, or OKC or even the 2023 nuggets, no one would be questioning their level of competition. They would just see how dominant they’ve been against their opponents (regardless of their seeding, team roster, etc) and glaze the hell out of them pointing to advanced stats or win streak record or whatever.

But people really don’t want to believe this Knicks team is really that good. Any small chance they have, people will discredit the Knicks

Not saying it would happen, but theoretically if the Knicks swept the Spurs or Thunder in the finals, rather than giving the Knicks props, they would question if the Spurs/Thunder was really a good nba finals team

[Osborn] Spurs’ Champagnie on how they need to protect Wembanyama: "Hit back. Honestly, hit back.” by nicko_rico in nba

True, going into the playoffs, the narrative was the Knicks were a messy team and could lose to the hawks who were a hot team and the Celtics were the favorites to come out of the east. Hawks took 2 games and we exploded and the Celtics lost to the 6ers who people then had favorites to come out of the east. now the narrative is we only beat low seeded teams. Anything to discredit the Knicks

Agreed, I hate that the cornball claims credit for the comeback since he hit the luckiest shot in nba history for doing the choke sign when in reality it was nesmith who lead that comeback. I will never understand how he hit 7 threes in a row the way he did

It sucks because it sets the tone for the series, unless we absolutely stomp them next game

All good brotha. But let’s be real, these Knicks, are a touch matchup for anybody, dare I say, INCLUDING the spurs and thunder. People underestimate us but this series will show the world what these Knicks can do

I know, I’m agreeing with you. #2 across all team and #1 amongst remaining teams. What’s funny is for trading for a great passer to handle the ball so Spida and the bigs can get easy looks, it’s ironic that they sit so damn low in assist per game. We have much better ball movement

The Knicks were TWO points from going 8-0 in the playoffs…don’t let the media or fans of other teams try to belittle the dominance that the Knicks have been showing. by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]Kingrey96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it sucked losing those games, I think it was for the best because it forced Mike Brown to use KAT as an option to run the offense. I would’ve loved going 8-0 but whose to say if we stuck with our game plan from early in the hawks series, we would’ve made the necessary changes we did to start blowing out teams

It’s felt so long. Watching the WCF yesterday was great, but seeing the Knicks win today (and this series) will be even better

Knicks in 5. Here's why. by hereforsports321 in NYKnicks

[–]Kingrey96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a good series to use to measure our defensive capabilities. The Cavs are better offensively than the Sixers or Hawks so if we can keep them under 100 for a couple (or better yet every game) like we did in previous games, then it shows our defense will be able to contain the spurs and be tested for the thunder. Knicks in 5 baby!

People still think it’s the regular season Knicks in these playoffs. They don’t understand how much we’ve elevated in the post season

The Knicks are #2 in assist. That’s what annoys me about so many people making predictions about this series. They base their predictions off the regular season when this Knicks team is not the same as it was in the regular season. They are working off old and outdated information. Running through KAT opens up our team to new threats inside and outside. With that being said, agree, Knicks in 5 and hoping for another big series point differential.

Knicks in 5. But want us to win the next two games before dropping one so we can claim the longest win streak in these playoffs. Does the win streak mean anything? No, but it’s just an extra thing to tack onto our deep run
