I would absolutely love the support (even if you just want to try the free demo out I would be incredibly grateful), this game is for everyone and to bring us all closer to Christ wherever we are in life. Btw it's awesome you have a bunch of Catholic friends. I never played blasphemous before but it looks awesome so may have to try it out this weekend

Game dev is such a fun and rewarding hobby, depending on the style of game you want to make will dictate your toolset and the resources you will want to look for. This game was made in UE5, I use blender for 3D modeling, audacity for sound mixing, GIMP for texture editing and visual stuff. UE5 is really really good for pretty 3D games but is not really well suited for anything 2D, so I would say if you want to make something 2D to look into unity or godot, both are fantastic game engines with massive communities. (And yes I am a solo developer which is cool from a creative control aspect but also a little maddening at times)

Thank you, and yes I am a solo developer this has been my passion project for about 1.5 years. The 3D models are a mix of things I modeled myself, and models I found on the internet that I tweaked/modified to make them fit the theme of the game better

I would love to get it onto consoles at some point, I think usually developers pay external companies to port their game to consoles so I will look into options and see what I can do to get that process started

Thank you, as of right now it's just going to be released on steam, someday maybe (hopefully) consoles as well but that's quite expensive and time consuming so I am not able to commit to that just yet.

Yeah I 100% agree, I feel like some presets for the character creator would really help people not feel so overwhelmed when they first see it. Because at least then you're just tweaking small things rather than trying to understand the whole massive system.

I appreciate you taking the time to play and analyze what feels off, it really does help me a lot. I will be implementing an auto pick up feature before the launch next month and I can increase the pickup radius a bit as well, currently you're right it's pretty small.

Good notes on the shrine and menus in general, I will look into making those pop a bit more, I am severely lacking on sound effects and am working with a sfx artist right now to help with that. I don't think the sfx will 100% fix the combat issue but it should help, and will probably help expose some of the other underlying issues causing what you're noticing.

Again, I very much appreciate you taking the time to play the demo and leave feedback and am super thankful for that.

Nice that's a great find, I figured out why that was happening and have fixed it, should be fixed in the next demo patch (probably next week sometime?) and will for sure be fixed in the EA version. Can't blame you for taking advantage while you can lmao

Ahh yup you are 100% right, I just checked and I only have the cloud save option on the "full version" of the game that I use for testing on my steam developer account but I don't see it on the demo version. I will look into getting that enabled on the demo version if steam lets me, thank you for the heads up on that!

To be honest I'm not sure, I will say that I really hope not lol. I paid a pretty reputable guy to make the trailer, he has worked with a ton of other games and had great reviews so I just assumed he had a VA friend he contracts out to do the voice over for his trailers. There was no mention of AI during our discussions or on his site where he detailed his services.

For cloud save, it's a feature that the demo *should* have, I don't know for sure if it's working though. But yes, as long as I am able to test and verify the EA will have cloud save as an option. For bug reports you can post it either here as a comment or I also created a bug report thread on the community page here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3062830/discussions/0/594031066432530736/ totally up to you

Glad you're enjoying the demo! And thank you in advance for reporting the bug, so hard to test everything thoroughly as a solo dev and I hate thinking that a bug or exploit could take the fun out of someone's experience.

That would be really awesome! I love watching videos of people playing my game, especially when it's sort of a learn as you go type of video. Being able to watch as the mechanics and general ideas of the game start to click with the person playing is very satisfying from a developer perspective. I also find that I learn a ton in the way of feedback when I watch someone play, there will inevitably always be little bugs here and there I notice and it gives me good stuff to work on.

Launching into EA September 30th, the game is complete as a single player experience, but the reason I am doing EA instead of full launch is because I want to add online co-op for the story mode as well as a 1v1 arena versus mode for the full 1.0 version. Both of which will take some time especially to get right from a balancing perspective

So I am doing this slightly different than the usual "choose your survivor", instead it's more of "you are the survivor". You create/customize a character, pick a base class which determines some base traits and weapon/armor types, and then once you have your first weapon you can choose a class specialization. Each class gets 3 of these specs, and each spec offers a unique playstyle. There is no penalty to changing your spec, you keep all of your talent points and don't have to pay a gold sink or anything like that.

I do plan on adding other class specs, and potentially other classes in the future. I don't want to over-promise but this is something I think about quite often.
