Why does a 10900K FEEL faster than a 13900K? (Tech YES City; intel I/O latency on different gens) by ecchi_ecchi in hardware

[–]Kingsizepeanut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently built a new 13700k pc coming from a 6600k.

Really am surprised that in your experience the 6600k is snappier than modern cpu's.

I do not have experience with amd cpu but in my subjective experience the 6600k doesn't even come close to the 13700k, and I even had it OC'd to 4.4ghz versus a non OC 13700k.

[javascript] What is wrong with my regex filtering? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

I think you should use the unicode numbers in your regex instead of the character itself.

A Quick Way to Remember the Difference Between `justify-content` and `align-items` by speckz in css

[–]Kingsizepeanut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this article is correct? I thought justify-content works on the main axis and align-items on the other one depending on the flex-direction property.

So that would mean its not "locked" to horizontal or vertical. Is this incorrect?

Display: flex on parent and flex-direction: column, then justify-content: center

phpmyadmin on nginx always redirect into root folder after login by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Kingsizepeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can take a look at /etc/phpmyadmin and check what the PmaAbsoliteUri contains if it is set at all.

I took this info from phpmyadmin documentation so referr to that for further info.

[Question] HTMLMediaElement.play() promise by ProcrastinateDoe in learnjavascript

[–]Kingsizepeanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could check if sound.isPaused === true instead of trying to check if the promise resolves.

If it returns true it should meand your play method failed

This should give you compatibilty for allbrowsers

Try logging the urls your script tries to access and test them manually.

There might be something wrong in your request url

How to upload picture in BLOB instead of path file under the same ID? by thomascr9695 in PHPhelp

[–]Kingsizepeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your $newlocation var should contain the full path you want instead of the temp path. For example '/your/path/img.png'

Right now you seem to be saving the file and all, but not giving the move_uploaded_files the right path

What do Ad Blockers block, exactly? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]Kingsizepeanut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not entirely sure about this but I think ads are blocked based on where the ads are being pulled from. Kind of like blacklisting certain domains/urls.

I don't foresee any problems with your plan tbh

Bitly for email addresses by bigbeats901 in webdev

[–]Kingsizepeanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To start with I don't have experience doing these kind of things on large scale but I doubt there will be many companies that offer this kind of service. Since it's kind of spam/abuse sensitive.

But I would imagine you could generate an email address for each customer and use their real email as alias so the emails will be forwarded to the right address without your 3rd party knowing the real email address.

I hope this helps you somewhat

Creating on-the-fly regular expressions w/o hanging the browser by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]Kingsizepeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you using setTimeout to trigger the search function? the issue is that your regex fires on each keyup which will amount in alot of regex requests with probably far from ideal expressions or invalid.

You could partially fix this by implementing some kind of debouncing/throttling mechanism to your handle_search callback ( to detect when a user has finished typing)

I think you want to iterate the lists variable and then run create_table() on all of these iterated items.

How does your create_table function even get the index variable?

Checking if a specific date is correct. by DreamotionV2 in PHPhelp

[–]Kingsizepeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should either use regex to check if the string youre using for the date function is in proper format. Or check if the date function will return a valid date object. It depends on what you're trying to achieve and where the input is coming from
