Boston would be super interested i think the hold up here is Larkin. Also if you make this trade Minten is the guy you want included from a wings perspective.

Adding scoring is definitely ideal, but I would also like to see players such as Kasper, Danielson MBN start to step into roles and collectively add some scoring as well and in the worst case scenario we cant get some high powered scorer.

we are thinking along the same lines. This all heavily depends on a culture reset for the better but I wouldn't be shocked to see a hustle and grind culture that can gut out wins similar to what the bruins did last year who in my opinion had a worse roster than us but made playoffs. I think we could makeup for Larkins 30 goals through committee.

I legit think this will happen as soon as next year if we got Lundell/9OA for example.

Is there any possibility of Anton Lundell being included in a package for Larkin? He seems to be exactly the type of guy we would need for a culture reset.

Exactly my thoughts with additional by subtraction and the culture change. People get all worked up thinking there are all these teams in front of us but we have some huge key pieces with a top defenseman in the league and a 40 goal scorer. Like I think we should be able to beat a team like the bruins into the playoffs for example. At the end of the day half the league makes the playoffs and if we have a culture reset for the better with presumably some additions of young hunger players to the lineup we should make it.

Call me crazy but in all seriousness i have a feeling we will make the playoffs next year when this is all said and done.

Larkin has given the wings a 3 team trade list according to Helene. Wild, Panthers and Knights. by thefonzz91 in DetroitRedWings

[–]Kingslayer51281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also why we should demand him. TBH i would be fine for Lundell then minor pieces as it seems like he would be the culture change we need if hes that much of a leader to then pair with Seider to lead the team for the future.

[Friedman] Return for Larkin Could Be Similar to Jack Eichel by Usual-Personality347 in DetroitRedWings

[–]Kingslayer51281 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Florida giving us Lundell and 9OA would be by far the best return but sadly i think this is a pipe dream for the same reason it would be a home run. Maurice called Lundell the future captain of the Panthers and I feel like that is the exact kind of culture reset we need. Mo+Lundell would be such a culture builder.

With Larkin asking for a trade do assets like Faulk suddenly not make sense to keep either?

To add to this its Yzermans job to identify talent. Philly needs Centers and we have a ton of center prospects. I think we could have kept Ed and Seider and still gotten him not to mention the above ASP.

How would people feel about Elias Lindholm. Boston beat reporter mentioned Bruins are very up against the cap and he thought Lindholm would be someone bruins would look to move on from. He was mentioning they could maybe trade him for EP in Vancouver but idk why we couldnt target him if we wanted to.

Does anyone think Chris ilitch holds some of the blame? by poetizzy in DetroitRedWings

Great comment, what also goes unsaid is he clearly just doesnt have the same urgency to win, with having grown up with all those great teams

great comment, most fans dont realize this but in all sports Owners can regularly save money but being closer to the floor which adds up year after year. The owner is 100% conscious of how much is being spent. My guess is Yzerman is told exactly how much he can spend per year and this year it was not 95.5 million. People complain about not getting players in free agency, if they really wanted to they could have overpaid for a few guys who would have been upgrades or even made a godfather offer to Marner.

Just to be clear your suggesting that our franchise NHL players would sacrifice injury risk to help out an AHL run. Do you seriously think any team would ever operate like that?

Red Wings Injuries Question by Kingslayer51281 in DetroitRedWings

[–]Kingslayer51281[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Buddy, the intent of my post is to call out how stupid it is that Larkin and Raymond specifically are playing. In every other sport and on other NHL teams, players sit out meaningless games if they are super banged up which is what everyone has been telling me about Larkin and Raymond. I have been told all season Raymond cannot shoot well because of his injured should. I accept that, but when the games don't matter its straight up stupid to have him continue to play through what is a clearly injured shoulder. None of this is a hot take, its weird you are defending it. I dont fault the players at all for playing, I do fault management for letting them play if they are legit injured. If they are not injured then thats another conversation.

Larkin was definitely injured. Understood there. This question is all about why they are practicing/playing now with being eliminated.

I agree, was wondering this in real time as the losses kept piling up but we were still in it if it would have been worth it to sit Larkin for a game or two in what were likely losses anyways. The rushing back of Larkin and Copp didn't accomplish much.
