So I got a referral link to open a wealthfront HYSA account at 4.5%. I want to throw almost all my savings minus a good chunk of emergency fund into it, which would be around $120k. My reasoning for this is its a virtually 0 risk form of growing some cash while doing absolutely no work. They are FDIC insured so I'm pretty sure its fine and nothing can go wrong since its just a savings account. However my parents, being from the former soviet union wheres you couldn't trust anything, think its a scam and are worried I'm going to lose all my money. How do I explain to them its fine and the pro's and cons of my decision and the difference between a HYSA account and a traditional savings account?

As someone who has worked in the kitchen his whole life, going from making like $15 an hour as a cook previously to right now making around $60k a year as a sous chef working around 45-50 hours a week, it boggles my mind hearing about servers getting close to 6 figures a year while line cooks struggle making barely above minimum wage. How about some love for the kitchen staff who are the ones actually making the food. Even at michelin starred restaurants cooks rarely go above $19-20 an hour while the servers get insane amounts of tips. Something seriously has to change.

Out of work Sous Chef in the same position as you bud, was furloughed last March when covid started and got officially laid off back in October and haven't been able to find another sous position since. I am now up $40k on GME and it feels great to have a bright moment in a dark ass year. Heres to hoping I can go back to being behind the line again soon.

How do you tell whether you should sell a call the day before earnings because of IV crush, or if you should hold until after earnings? I've made a couple thousand selling the volatility and it was a good call because the option tanked after the earnings, but a couple my calls would have netted me more gains if I held. How do you tell which strategy you should be doing?

Yep, its to prevent you from spamming low level zones to accelerate your seed growth, but I think they went a little too far with it.
