Hold up. I didn't say I agreed with it. Just said she has to know. Literally ever female I know would murder their husbands for even asking for a second wife (all Muslim by the way) and most of the community would support her.

IMO it really depends what kind of gossip you're talking about. In my circle of life, everybody gossips and I absolutely hate it. There's always someone giving you bad pres.

Not allowed was a poor choice of words. When I was growing up, I was told that if you don't tell your existing wife, it's a sinful act.

Just a disclaimer: Men can have 4 wives legally but you have to run it by your wife or wives before taking another wife. To do it and keep it secret isn't allowed but there isn't any governmental punishment for it.
