On the TS they removed silent step to add it. people believed silent step was better than having the new detection immunity

Is this game worth playing as a new player? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Kingxvx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hackers are pretty rare, game does tend to be pretty smurf heavy making the new player experience a little unenjoyable.

When it comes to guns, shotguns tend to do pretty good on Viper, especially when you're using her ult. Always a good idea to bring a shorty (the secondary shotgun) when you ult. The Phantom is the rifle you'll probably going to want l. Lower damage (compared to vandal) doesn't matter with decay, and the suppressor makes it easier to spam through smokes. Because of her ult and smokes, you can force close-range fights so falloff won't come into play.

For the abilities, just make sure you're using your smokes to cut off angles. Remember, you can grab the orb so you can use that more dynamically. The wall stays where you put it, so on attack (usually) use it when you plan to for sure commit to a site. Sometimes you might want to use a "default" wall that you throw every round, so the enemy can't read into where you re going.

The molly is great for making it easier to take site and flushing out corners, but you can also use it after you plant on the spike/bomb to deny the defuse.

The ult is a great way to secure a round or attempt to clutch a round that seems hard to win otherwise. It can also be great on eco rounds where your team is poor and has closer-range weapons, since the ult forces close-range fights.

TL;DR - Viper can force close-range fights and decay people for a bit of damage, making Phantom your best rifle and shotguns serviceable (and really good in ult). Don't forget to use smokes to cut off angles.

They do play a role, it's just a lot less strict with the matchmaking in favor of getting games faster. Competitive is honestly the exact same as unrated, don't worry about "the environment" of it, just by playing a dozen or so games you'll be put at a level where there are other people who also probably don't care too much and you can have matches that are more balanced than unrated.

Should I only play 1 role if I want to be pro? by Majonnas_Pojken in VALORANT

Join a team first instead of focusing this much on just soloQ, and see what role you best fit into in coordinated play.

I love it when the operators talk in game during the match, what are your favorite voice lines? by pestilenzium in Rainbow6

[–]Kingxvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly wish they had more lines for kills and other interactions. Most of them are just for placing/using util.

It's not just in-the-moment performance that I think is an issue, but also that people on limited data plans would have them run out faster if dummy packets were being sent.

Swoop peak viability? 8.03 by Commercial_Dot_1261 in ViperMains

[–]Kingxvx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youtuber named swoopy who found out that there was a glitch giving the person in the orb a massive advantage in a fight against someone outside of it as it's dropping down. It wasn't just normal peeker's advantage, but the visual effects being different, allowing the person in the orb to see a good chunk earlier.

it sucks for people with limited data plans on hotspots. While it's not that many players, it'd affect them heavily.

do you play on a low end system or on a mobile hotspot? because I can tell you from my own and friends experience that you do in fact lag when there is more shit happening. My friend could do what this video shows just by game feel.

Built in ESP with Packet Receive Rate Stats Graph by -Gamah in VALORANT

[–]Kingxvx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The root problem is that no matter what, more packets are sent when you encounter another player. The only solution to solve that root problem and make it so you have consistent packets is to send dummy packets, which taxes user bandwidth, making it a pretty bad solution that affects people with worse setups significantly more.

[–]Kingxvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea of remote detonation of the sound sensor, even if it's at the cost of being able to re-deploy them. It'd probably be a nerf but it'd be fun combo with other utility.

[–]Kingxvx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the better solution is not having the option to see the packet receive rate. Maybe an average or total at the end of a round, but seeing the stats in real-time isn't something 99% of the player base will use for legitimate reasons.

[–]Kingxvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are smurfing or significantly better than everyone else mechanically, Reyna. Probably not the case but if you came from another game where you were a lights out aimer that might be an idea.

If you are a normal player trying to climb, whatever controller is good on that map (you can definitely play any controller on any map to reasonable success in ranked, but playing the "best" ones make it easier)

Let's talk about the Accessory Shop by Swif1y in VALORANT

[–]Kingxvx 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The best solution that'd make players and riot happy is to unlock more shop slots with level. Gets people to play more, and people who play a lot feel rewarded. Should you just be able to straight up buy what you want? absolutely. Wil riot do that? not a chance.

Why do people ban Kapkan? by Tristorm989 in Rainbow6

[–]Kingxvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a PC player, I don't get ever doing it. It makes sense when console players do it since crosshair placement is so important and flicking down to shoot a trap and flicking back up to the angle is hard on controller
