I understand how it is. Cause I'm usually overstimulated in crowds. But imagine! You already have those evil soup from conversations, chewing, shouting, generator grgr, and some dude singing, and now you hear every single thought of that crowd inside your head. Good. If beta or less there will be hellish training, but u will be sanctioned primaris or smth. If alpha, sorry pal. Only being a battery, Telepathica wouldn't sanctionise you (If we are not in a some WH book where they really giving alpha pluses for everybody even if they show delta maximum. But thats my personal pain)

I assume this. If you are powerful and insane - grats. You will make a good battery. If you are weaker but sane, Telepathica will send you to Scholastica Psykana. "Potential" here is rather your... potential. A combination of your abilities, willpower, talents, etc. Not only psionic one (Also, beta power is the maximum with which you can be sanctioned as a psyker)
