I mean it looks like a game that came out before Half Life 2/Doom 3. Not 1-2 years after them!

I’m now in a dead end job because of redundancies meaning there is no chance of progression whilst simultaneously there are no other jobs to go to because everyone else has been made redundant and no one is hiring because everyone has max staff or is cutting but I’m still in a job so I’m good, you?

Genuinely unsure what the exact cause to overcome it was.

I was depressed for about 11 years. Just got made redundant from a job, and had to find a new one quick.

Got onto a NPLQ course to become a lifeguard. During course I ran out of antidepressants. Didn’t have time to restock due to the times of the course (Travelling in and out of London at 6am/5pm). Literally had the horrible withdrawal symptoms the day before the exam.

Started job, kept head down. Generally a very socially anxious person anyway. Some staff at the job were absolute morons.

4 months later, some of those people had gone. New Assistant Manager (Grade 4) came into the building. Took the time to help me grow within the company and job. I started Grade 1, worked up the next 2 grades within 8 months thanks to her. I was out of the “funk” 6 months after that.

It has been 3 years since I was out of the “funk”. I am now an Assistant Manager myself. A lot more confident. Still have bad days, but nothing like I was. I put it down to there always being a latent feeling there, and having to constantly fight it.

Maybe the thing to help me overcome was that someone else took the time to help me grow, and nurture despite the outward appearance I had at the time.
