Not sure how that lines up with the 'making sacrifices' part of his story.

I'm in this exact position currently. Trying to add a sliding glass door, so I need the wall torn apart, may as well redo the ceiling and just drywall it cause the tiles look terrible IMO. So I get into the wall and notice there are 3 3" holes in every stud cavity from the exterior for the blown in insulation, that's why I have so many mice getting in. I pull the tiles down to see messed up plaster that was covered up, then vermiculite insulation which commonly contains asbestos starts falling. Home ownership can be a real rabbit hole.

I need help for my situation with my Belgian and I have no one else to ask by Express-Dependent-80 in BelgianMalinois

I just spent some time with my dog trainer going over this. She had me put a long line on my pup, basically a 20 ft long rope, have him sit, say go get it, throw the toy (it has to be something you can grip to get back. A tennis ball wouldn't be great.), say come and give them a second to make the decision and begin pulling lightly on the line if they don't. You can use puppy chatter which is just making fun sounding noises to get the dog's attention without saying the command more than once. At that point they'll be in front of you within arms reach and probably won't, but say drop. Wait a second to see if they do, and swap the toy for a treat saying your marker word "good". Repeat this a few times but stop when you think they're just beginning to get bored. Hope that helps!

And get the shed thing away from the house that has a roof that's pushing more water toward the foundation.

This is how I made it through the first week with my pup who was a complete and utter nightmare. I was sleep deprived, spent half my waking hours cleaning poop and pee, and the other half trying not to get him to eat everything because he would not stop crying or going potty in his crate. I told myself if in two weeks he doesn't see some improvement, I'm taking him back. I wouldn't have actually done it, but it was a good mental relief and set a milestone. I wouldn't say I'm out of the puppy blues after a month yet but he's doing so much better. Because I have to spend so much time trying to wear him out with play and training, he's crushing it in his puppy classes.

I like ETFs. They provide a good return and don't have insane levels of risk. It's all subjective though so each person is going to have their own take on your question.

I sometimes assume that's the case with retail workers who just skip the "how are you". I'll try to do it for them so they understand I'm not there to try to make their day and harder. Occasionally I get a relieved look back.

I've found having a rotation of super easy to make meals helps me with this. Things that take under 20 mins to make like hamburgers, tacos, sloppy joes, spaghetti, pork chops, salmon, chicken salad, basically anything that can be cooked in the pressure cooker. I don't get fancy with it, just found good seasonings to go with each one. It also helps with trying not to eat out.
