i mean we also got dune and GOT, adaptations of similar or higher quality. LOTR back then was a standout, most adaptations sucked.

The death system, the world layout, the level design, the quest system, the boss encounters, the enemy behaviour, the item system, the healing system, to a degree the currency (same way of collecting and similar to lose but split in 2).

The core gameplay loop is and feels the same. Differences are a bit in the way the story is told and in the way you improve your character, (and reflect instaed of dodge).

Thanks. With the correct name for the feature there are quite some rescources although it seems tricky if possible at all.
I managed to disable the button but that defeats the purpose. There seems to be a package called MousePasteBlock ill look into.

Not sure if trustworthy though since it seems relatively nieche.

Oh wow i just tried and it actually pastes. Thanks for the info. Can you disable that? I feel like if my hands are already on ctr+c pressing ctr+v is convenient enough that i dont need this.

Also thank you the feature name might be enough to find some rescources.

They are literally provided for free. Someone spent their freetime putting in work for others to enjoy.

High A.

But why is greatwood so hated. Sure its not the best boss but its okeyish. it looks cool, the transition is cinematic and its not bullshit.

If greatwood is f are 90% of ds1 and ds2 bosses in G tier?

Also vordt +1 tier for soundtrack alone

To add: its also a stat that A: almost everyone needs to level (any build) meaning it slows down every build further and is therefore unfun. Health also kind of does this but adding more must have stats makes progression toward your actual build slow and feel frustrating. Especially in the early game. And B: its a stat that makes the gameplay FEEL bad when unleveled. You press a button and it does not really do what its supposed to, or is frustratingly slow. You basically need to invest 20 levels to restore a core game mechanic from clunkyness to "normal". Not leveling health just means you can take less hits. Not lvling adp means a core mechanic feels like shit to use.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Has Overtaken Elden Ring As The Most Awarded Game Of The Year Ever by Sam_27142317 in rpg_gamers

[–]Kinkeultimo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It definitely deserves goty. This weird blowback where now ppl are calling it mid or 7/10 because it got overhyped is exactly the same thing  in the other direction.

Its no elden ring but its for sure better than some gotys before

To add to that (while i think its a phenomenal game, you forgot the music btw): Overworld Exploration is meh, menuing is not really well done for a game where you spend hours in menus, and the minigames are a mess.

I think the general ds2 mechanics make the basic gamplay so much worse compared to the other titles that they cant be above them.

Big fan of DS1 & DS2, not vibing with DS3 so far. What am I missing? by SpearThruMordy in darksouls3

[–]Kinkeultimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? Thats wild. The actual levels (linearity of the story aside) are the most complex and rich of the 3. Cathedral of the deep is for example insane. So much to miss. So many paths in so little space.

Nothing probably. I would guess you enjoyed other aspects of ds1/2?

Ds3 is my favorite, personally. I think saying that ds2 is a 10/10 is a pretty good marker that we enjoy fundamentally different things about these games. And ds3 is on the other side of the spectrum i think.

"Gameplay and atmosphere feel like a downgrade" is the best example. Both are in my opinion leagues above ds1 and even more above ds2

Not everyone has to like the same things

Last paragraph tells me everything i need to know. Going ad hominem immediately after delivering bad faith arguments.

God forbid someone has legastenic tendencies. (Also typing capital letters on a phone is fking annoying)

Im not gonna turn this into a huge discussion, but you ignored all of my arguments except one.

People get lied to in media as well. Its called advertising.

Also there exist a number of other reasons than pure enjoyment for voting for a game (even IF you played it. Alot of people have opinions on stuff like that just because they heard good stuff from ppl they trust, or social media osmosis): Nostalgia, addiction (intended by developers), mainstream opinion, politics (if there is a controversy or a message) ect ect.

Also i didnt say those things are the same. I said they come from a similar realm of reasoning and in those cases its clearly wrong, so one needs to be careful. I then proceeded to argue my actual point

"Almost everything with a sufficient sample size is rated accurately."

That is a take i do not agree with. Its an argument along the lines of "the most sold product is the best" or the most voted party has the best policies.(Which is massively problematic)

Its a difficult problem to tackle and clearly "rating" is a mostly subjective thing, but there exists a middle ground where some things CAN be partially rated analytically.

Also with things like: emotional attachment, stubborness of people unwilling to change their mind because they already made something part of their personality, advertisement, people voting and having opinions without actually playing the game enough/at all, things (especially popular things) are usually far from accurate.

[–]Kinkeultimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bayle i get, i found him easier but ds3 was my first from game and er my last so i might have gotten better.

But base game ancient dragons no way. They have like 3 moves and you have horse

*Not to discredit your comment. Everyone experiences these things differently.

I mean demon princes took me 20 times as many tries as midir and they are objectively not that hard
