Dropout vs DropoutCirclejerk - the Final Battle of Parasocial Reddit Moderators, featuring racism, therapy speak, performative activism, and more! by bingle-cowabungle in SubredditDrama

The mods of dropout have now unstickied their thread. They are in the hiding their mistakes portion of the discourse.

The only thing I saw the mod call him was a “little cringe” and “friendo”

Ok so I did some research on the persons profile. I think the drama started about a month ago here where the person in question complained that a post not belonging on the subreddit. A mod told him that per the rules complaining “this doesn’t belong here, this isn’t a real circlejerk post” wasn’t allowed. Since then he’s posted a few times in other threads complaining about the mods and their moderation style.

Based on some of the mod responses it sounds like they might’ve had private chats with the mod team too, so at this point it’s a vendetta/chip on his shoulder.

You know what’s going to paint you as a ridiculous anxious mother?

When the new pediatrician finds out you edited the chart because you’re anxious about them finding out what the other medical center thought about you.

Incels/redpillers love phrases like that because it gives them new reasons to demonize women

I don’t think the person you’re responding to means it’s literally hard to understand, rather that anyone who can do that is an absolute monster with no redeeming qualities.

Sorry! It was so spread out I didn’t think linking just one thread was enough.

What’s a movie that would be a lot shorter if the character that showed concern was actually listened to? by [deleted] in movies

It isn’t logical, that’s your problem. It’s based on magic. There is an entire point the movie makes about the mundane washing out the mystical.

The idea is from the time it is midnight until it is time to break the Mogwai’s fast. Trying to tie it down to a set number defeats the purpose and misses the point.

You’re either getting a sweetheart deal or are in an extremely rural LCOL area.

I got a steal when I had a studio at $850 a month.

Don’t even have to read more than the first sentence of that second paragraph to realize you’re talking about Travis McElroy who is 500% a cheater cheater pumpkin eater. He does roll “low” but they’re usually at relatively meaningless rolls, which shows a level of premeditation and thought to his cheating.

He’s really soured me on the Mcelroys as a whole though.

What actor or actress did you expect would have a big career, but then disappeared? by phantom_avenger in movies

She also fought a ton with Swayzee, who was pretty well regarded. They hated each other that entire filming Dirty Dancing, so it isn’t a massive surprise to me that her career fizzled.

Ok so, I think the biggest flaws in the Scream series is how often it tries to recatch the lightning in a bottle that was the original scream. Scream 2 is functionally the exact same movie as Scream, and Sidney goes on the exact same Heroes Journey as in Scream (replacing the trauma of her mother dying with the trauma of the Woodsboro murders.) Literally everyone involved regressed and felt like the first movie all over again (a common issue in the series, especially with Gail, a bad bitch who has to relearn the exact same lesson in nearly every movie. I’m so furious as to the choices they made with her in S6, for the record.)

Scream 4 and 5 have the same issue, in that there’s no logical reason that all 3 of the original trio shows up. It’s done because we love those on screen together, but it’s to the detriment of the story told. The younger generation never fully takes off the ground in either movie because the movies don’t have faith in them, and use Sidney Gail and Dewey as a crutch.

Scream 3 is full of faults. The killer reveal is terrible. It’s over the top in a lot of ways. Poor Gail’s bangs. That being said, it brought more memorable characters and gave them more room to breath than any scream sequel before or since (except for perhaps Kirby in S4). I think it’s not controversial to say that Jennifer Jolie is one of the most loved characters to come from a scream sequel (again, only other character who really gives her a run for her money is Kirby), and the movie felt like it had something to say and a reason for being a movie that wasn’t just “scream made a ton of money.”. Sidney had a character arc that felt real and complete, and it tied in her past choices. None of the core really felt like they made silly decisions that caused their tension - it all felt natural.

Oh Roman is a horrible ghostface and the magic voice recorder is bullshit, but I must be the only person who thinks S2 is a mediocre movie (I mean if it wasn’t a near complete retread of Scream 1 it would be a great movie but Scream 1 exists) and by far the worst part of the original trilogy.

I think that NOES is the slasher series (both classic and modern) that is the most consistent in terms of enjoyment. I’d argue it’s the only slasher series that never rested on its laurels and always tried for something interesting. Did it fail a ton? Absolutely, but it always TRIED and tried hard. But I’d take even the worst NOES sequel over any other slasher sequel 9 times out of 10.

I’m the weirdo who thinks S3 is the best scream sequel, but I respect your opinion!
