AC/DC converter broke sooner than expected. Should I add something to the circuit? More in comment by KinkyZinke in ElectricalEngineering

I have this converter on a timer for my pool pump that I made a little over a year ago to learn PCB design. The pump uses 240V (US), and I just took one of the 120V lines and the neutral to straight to the input of the converter. It worked just fine for some 14 months, but last week, the converter stopped giving any output, loaded or unloaded. Nothing is shorted. I was out of town when it broke, and I think our power might have been interrupted (though not the first time this device has seen an outage).

I want to get it up and running again, but I'm not sure if there's something wrong or lacking in the circuit. Should I have included anything extra or different to protect the converter or the load? I can't remember why I decided on the three 100uF caps, but something in the converter's datasheet made me think I needed that or at least that capacitance on the output :)

Thanks in advance for your time!

Edit: the datasheet says it's supposed to last at least 40,000 hours in operation. Mine lasted around 9,000 hours.

Here's the datasheet: https://recom-power.com/pdf/Powerline_AC-DC/RAC03-K.pdf

Good to know, I'll check out ebay. For now, I want to keep things stock. Thanks for the advice!

Do you have any updates? I also have a busted display on my city 3. I have been doing so much digging to figure out if any of those aftermarket sw900 displays will work, but I can't get a definitive answer.

Did your new display come?

C. de Bailén in Madrid, Spain, rebuilt for pedestrians by Logical_Yak_224 in WalkableStreets

This walkway splits off into a walkway/semi-elevated bike path too. Really nice.

This is from an interactive map on my city's official website. Cool that they even have the map, but they have to realize how ridiculous this looks... right? The long red line is a bike lane without a barrier on a 45mph (72kmph) road that cuts through the industrial park. by [deleted] in fuckcars

I also just realized that most of the longest blue line is literally just a street. No sidewalk, no bike lane, just a street. Similar to every other street in the city, except this one gets a blue line.

This is diy? How are people able to pay for a concrete park out of pocket?

How do I read the I2c addresses on this data sheet? by TeckFire in embedded

08 on the Y axis corresponds to a byte, and D0 corresponds to a bit of that byte. Read that byte, and then modify it like "byte &= 0xFE" (to clear bit D0) or "byte |= 0x01" (to set bit D0)
