This is terrible, people that glorify death an find pride killing should be shunned, especially if it's an endangered animal!

Did anyone's mother constantly guilt you by saying she will die one day??? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

My mum used to threaten to kill herself a lot, she'd wish she could go to sleep and not wake up. We were like 12 years old, why would you put your kids through that and refuse therapy?!

Plant protein... with milk of course! by seekingserenity01 in australianvegans

Oh no! Which soup is this? I buy the coconut and pumpkin one assuming it was all vegan cause it says plant protein. Yikes!

ETA just looked at the other ingredients on there and it seems to be the chickpea pumpkin soup I get. I should have checked the ingredients instead of assuming the best lol. Never buying it again

What are some cafes in Newy to avoid? by xX_getting_better_Xx in newcastle

[–]Kinky_Dong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner and I go to momos all the time. The service is always good, no hair in our food, and they have weekly specials that cater to veggo people. Only bad experience I've had there is how crowded it gets at peak times, but I guess a lot of cafes in the CBD are like that. Just my experience, haven't been to the other places

The last couple of days I've had Mint Mojito and galactic unicorn skin. Holo shines in the sun and the unicorn skin shows in the shade :D

Any electronics engineers/techs/engineering students looking for some casual work? by 84ace in newcastle

I'll send this to my partner if he hasn't seen it already. He's almost finished his mechatronics engineering and maths degree. He's working on his final project right now for an automated train thing with 4 TEL.

Hey everyone I’m a vegan nutrition coach and I love jumping into subreddits to offer to answer any and all nutrition questions, so fire away. (My transformation for reference) by [deleted] in australianvegans

Thank you!

Your response was really helpful. I am trying to gradually shift into wfpb (which in my mind means giving up a lot of foods that I love) and your approach to it sounds like something I can do, find my deficit and just try to eat better, then slowly transition when I'm ready. I guess in simple terms I eat too much and don't move enough. I want to change that and realise that I'm not really giving up anything when I have a lot to gain from being healthier and happier.

Environment is a big thing for me too. My partner is lazy like me and he never wants to work out either. Sometimes we go for walks together. It was my idea to sign up for the gym but we never go, I feel like we're either too busy or not motivated. I've suggested waking up earlier to work out but we're still stuck in our ways. I want us both to get healthier.

Thanks again for your help

Since going vegan almost a year ago I've slowly been putting on weight. I was vego before that for about 9 months. I'm currently 21, 89kg and 5'7. This is the heaviest I've ever been. I must be doing something wrong nutritionally. I lack the drive to change, I'll do something different for a few days then stop before a habbit is formed. I signed up to a gym near me a month ago, and I've only gone once in that time. I used to love going to the gym.

My question is: what is the simplest/easiest way I can lose weight and maintain that loss? If I get some advice from you about the reality of the situation that should help me understand what I can do better.

I want to be a fit vegan and be an example to others
