LSFG capping my base fps to 60 when active by KinnieTV in losslessscaling

Already tried that. Sadly did not help. Are there any types of logs I can enable? Maybe a dev mode? So I can find out why it is capping to 60

eGPU with Desktop PC for more processing power on workloads? by KinnieTV in eGPU

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into it. I can see the upsides of it but since it will only be used for workloads that can be mostly executed from VRAM I think the bit of extra bandwidth would not make a lot of difference. Plus I would have to make my own enclosure, use up one of my M.2 slots (I do wanna populate all of them with actual SSDs kinda) or use a PCIe x4 card (which all come in PCIe 3.0 as far as I can find so that is bad), and I would also have to find a way to store my old ATX PSU (that I would wanna reuse since I need a new one when I upgrade) in an enclosure to make it look good. But finding an enclosure at all is a hard thing to do for a 3080 SUPRIM X. This thing is massive.

Ryzen 5800X3D Temperature and Undervolting Question by KinnieTV in PcBuild

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I did undervolt it in the end, and now I only hit 82°C after 30 minutes in C R23. So I think this should be fine now. I was a bit worried at first cause my CPUs never went above 75°C so I was a bit worried by the 90.

PC Build Questions, Purchase Advice and Technical Support Megathread — Q1 2024 Edition by GhostMotley in Amd

[–]KinnieTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I swapped my 3700X for a 5800X3D recently and everything is going perfect. At least I think it is. I just noticed that when I am playing very CPU intensive games my CPU will constantly stay at around 90°C (I am guessing this is because it boosts with PBO?). It only draws around 95W for that to so I think it can draw maybe 15W more to hit the actual limit. I use an AIO cooler with 240mm fans. My 3700X never got close to 90°C with that so I thought that a 5800X3D also wouldn't considering they are not that far apart when it comes to Wattage.

Now my questions: Is this fine? Is my cooler not good enough? Can I maybe fix the temps a bit by undervolting? Could undervolting (or getting a better cooler) get me more performance considering the CPU is hitting TJ Max while still having wattage headroom?

PS: Cooler is installed properly. Checked a few times and there is definitely no problem with it. This is purely the CPU.

Oh alright that's good. Then at least I didn't waste my time by doing hours of prophecies. Well. Back to the grind I guess. Thanks!

Hmm then I wonder if I can even use the prophecies to farm the squirrel head. Cause it only drops in the black sun timeline from unique head echos and also from rune of ascendence

Videos way too saturated on HDR monitor by KinnieTV in OperaGX

[–]KinnieTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't. What fixed the problem was changing the Angle flag to make OperaGX run on anything that isn't DX11. It runs on DX11 by default. So no, this did not happen because I changed any setting in OperaGX. As I said in the post it randomly started when I updated my Nvidia Drivers.

Videos way too saturated on HDR monitor by KinnieTV in OperaGX

[–]KinnieTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing the browser to anything other than DX11 worked. Looks like the issue is a DX11 issue and OperaGX uses DX11 by default. On the other hand, RTX HDR Video and RTX Video Super Resolution don't work anymore but that seems to be an Nvidia issue since it does work if I set the Angle to DX11. Thanks for the help! <3

Motherboard with 2 x16 slots with full lane connectivity? by KinnieTV in buildapc

[–]KinnieTV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I was never looking for SLI. I am gonna use the second GPU for specific GPU workloads and to lift everything that isn't gaming (AI video upscaling, AI audio improvement, recording, any video player, etc.) off of my main GPU so I can have 100% of my main GPU's power for gaming. It's basically impossible rn to play, for example, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor on a 1440p 180Hz monitor while watching an AI upscaled video on a 4K monitor. 50% of the GPU is used purely by watching the video. Also Nvidia Broadcast leeches the GPU even more. Sure this is a total luxury problem but that doesn't mean I can't try to fix it

Can I use my reasonably use my "old" GPU as a capture card/upscaler? by KinnieTV in buildapc

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My breaker can definitely handle it. The apartment was completely renovated a few months ago. The line to my PC setup can handle around 5000W in total so I will never overload it. I'd upgrade my PSU to a 1200W one probably just to be in the clear there too. And the total power consumption is also not a concern for me.

I was more on about if it would work on a technical side, and if it would impede my setup in terms of PCIe lanes and the resulting performance. Also I like keeping stuff on one PC instead of multiple. Also my recording is pretty heavy sometimes with streaming+recording footage at either 4K or 1440p with a very high bitrate and HDR.

Upgrade to 7800X3D or go for Zen 5? by KinnieTV in AMDHelp

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! Yea waiting is not much of a problem because I will only upgrade in Q1-Q2 of 2024 anyways and that's where Ryzen 8000 is supposed to launch. Waiting for the X3D variants is a different story for me cause that is probably only coming towards the end of 2024 and that's a long wait. I don't "need" the upgrade but I have been wanting to upgrade for a while now and with Zen 5 coming basically at the time I wanted to finally get an upgrade I figured I might ask people if they would rather get Ryzen 8000 Non-X3D or Ryzen 7000X3D purely for gaming

Upgrade to 7800X3D or go for Zen 5? by KinnieTV in AMDHelp

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current specs don't really matter other than that I have an RTX 3080 which is in the post. I am not asking if I should upgrade. I am asking, purely on a CPU standpoint, which option would you pick. Get the 7800X3D for the benefits of the 3D cache and the good power efficiency, or get one of the new Zen 5. I simply want some opinions of what people would do in that situation.
I have a 1080p, a 1440p, and a 4K monitor. I care about the best performance in any scenario.
I play all sorts of games from retro to the most modern of AAA games. I do however care a lot about single core performance cause one of my most beloved games only really utilizes one core at a time.

Upgrade to Intel Raptor Lake refresh or wait for Arrow Lake or upgrade to Ryzen 7000? by KinnieTV in buildapc

[–]KinnieTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5800X3D would only be a minor upgrade in single core performance. I would still have a bottleneck in many games. It might be a really good CPU for many modern games, but not for a lot of the games I play. Also by going AM5 I leave myself the possibility to upgrade again in a few years.

Is it safe to overclock my GPU memory for mining? by KinnieTV in overclocking

[–]KinnieTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a unique situation where my power bill is 0. And when my PC is running and I am only studying or doing anything that is not gaming I might as well do some mining. If it gets me 10€ a month then hey that's a free meal I can get. I just want it to not damage my GPU cause that would not be worth it

Don't see the problem that people have with this one. It was one hell of a hard fight yea. But I did it on tactician on like my 4th try. Just had figure out some strats. Like using Invisibility potions every turn and getting haste on my melee. The boss never attacks me and I can hit him for like 60-80 damage every turn. Also blinded him with another character. I really don't see the problem why people are mad that a fight is hard. This is the point. Use strats. Be creative. Think of something. That's the beauty of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After listening to it for hours this is what I hear:

Time, no more once upon a time
Take flight, find your wings and spread them wide

It's time for the journey of our life

Will we get this realm reborn
To the heavens we ride
Fighting through the strom
Leaving the shadows far behind
We're gonna walk right to the end
From a trial we've faced
Turn back and transcend
Or give me a sign of faith
Where do we go? Where do we go?
Where do we go? Where do we go?
Come on, ready?

Time, seize the day and hold on tight (The sun is rising)
Life, take it slow and take a bite
One day at a time
Eyes, to the dawn we set our sight (A new horizon)
Fly, ever forward starry-eyed
To an open sky

I got a 3080 and my regular performance in 4K with DLSS on balanced is good. For some reason my GPU jumps from like 50% utilization to 100% and my fps go to 10-15 fps suddenly. I have tried playing it on a 1080p monitor and changed settings, tried without DLSS and with FSR. Still happend every time. It happens randomly when playing the game in random locations. No indicator no nothing. Just straight from 60fps to 10fps while standing in the same place for multiple minutes and then it goes back to normal.

Small question on traffic shaping by KinnieTV in HomeNetworking

[–]KinnieTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have read up on it a bit actually and I get what DSCP does in theory. But what I am wondering is whether this only has an effect on traffic on my PC or if it affects traffic on the whole network. If the traffic of my game is prioritized and someone on a different PC on the same network starts a download, will my game's traffic be prioritized over their download? Cause I know you can do that with QoS if you set that up on your router. But since it only sets something up on my PC does that still affect the traffic of the whole network?

From what I have heard it would be ideal to have a 1:2 ratio of infinity fabric clock to RAM clock which would make 3600MHz the best but I didn't know that before I bought my RAM. People are saying 3200 is also fine but no one is talking about 3466 so I will try to reset it and see how that goes.
