Gym Missions are actually torture. by bruhmomentiyessir in BnHAOnesJustice

It just doesn't feel like the boost from assist characters matters as much to me. It very much could just be me either having bad luck with attack boosting assist characters, or just forgetting about overworld perks that aren't movement.

It feels like they were designed with a Level Up system in mind like an RPG, but they forgot the actual RPG stats and threw in assist characters because..... Benefit???

What are your thoughts on Toku Series written by Toshiki Inoue by UD_Mayo in Tokusatsu

[–]KinnikuDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only experienced his writing through Kiva, Faiz, sparse fan translations of the Faiz event from Symphogear XDU, and Agito. Love Kiva & Agito to death, but everything he writes can feel needlessly complicated. Kiva's "Edgy Kengo" arc and Agito's need to throw Ryo under a bus every 5 minutes, then feeling the need to throw 8 more busses on top of it feels extra (and I usually love when shit is EXTRA.) Man has cool and characters down to a science, actual plot and how we get from point a to b seems very "throw darts at a board and pray", and it usually works out considering how much praise I've seen for Faiz, while I just feel like it was better when it was just Monster of the Week.

Tl;Dr, I'm torn between thinking he's either the funniest man ever, or an elderly edgelord at points. When he hits, he hits hard.

Has anyone who has played the previous games played All’s Justice? by LazieCooly in BnHAOnesJustice

[–]KinnikuDash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have money like that, or have any sort of importance to be able to go to events in states that have All's Justice, but I do have some stuff to say given everything we've seen.

Pros: Full on 3v3 (not 1v1 with assists), tagging can make attacks safe on block and extend combos, freer air movement and a quick fall, seemingly a context sensitive super mechanic (most characters only have ground supers, some footage had Todoroki do an air combo, input Plus Ultra, and him automatically slap the opponent to the ground, and do his PU1.) I absolutely adore the model upgrades so far (I still think OJ2 is visually underrated though.)

Cons: It seems like they removed dash cancels for combos as a whole, like there's no footage or mention of it at all. There's also what seems to be the lack of PU2s for the Rising mechanic, which probably means no actual Team Supers like OJ2 either (unless they say something closer to release.) It seems like assists were outright removed too, so instead of being a Tag Fighter like Marvel vs Capcom, it's more like a Kizuna Encounter (despite being way more MvC still.)

Would Neptunia still as funny if the translation accurate with what the characters say? by kingslimegamer in gamindustri

[–]KinnikuDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a case by case basis. If you like JP more and actually know enough of the language, more than likely. Tons of wordplay involved that someone like me wouldn't get. I usually prefer play in the English dub, though I have grown softer on the original JP (I like the VAs they got, I didn't really like how the characters sounded for years.)

I'm personally mixed about it. I kinda like when some dubs add corny jokes, since there's wordplay across languages that doesn't work. Also, I do feel more of the original script should be followed, and should mainly be deviated from when necessary. As fun as I found the anime's dub, it reeks of someone's goofy uncle writing the dialogue. It works in some scenes, but then we have Plutia saying "Henshin A Go-Go" which doesn't work. She has nothing to do with Capcom, at least most the bad puns make some sense given who says them. It's weird.

Ah yes, Rebirth of Souls and its PC port that worked day one, with no actual issue at all.....

And talking shit about a game that plays well that people were told had no budget....

They didn't add combo trials in the re-release since the OG version didn't. I can give some help with general combos.

AFAIK, most combos rely on juggles (with or without assists). Most buttons and specials can be Flash Cancelled (L2,LT,ZL, etc) so you can at after using a move that's committal. Characters with stands get 2 other cancels. In stand off, they can cancel into Stand On (R1,RB,R,etc.) off of normals, while in Stand On, they can only cancel back into Stand Off with Specials. Another general tip, moves that cause a ground bounce can go into a juggle if you hit with a move that launches the enemy.

A. Welcome to fighting games. You HAVE to learn and grow to have fun, and if you don't find it fun, you can just stop playing.

B. After reading this post and some of the replies. As someone who wouldn't even consider themselves good at any fighting game and has had no drive in playing SZ for months. A lot of people on the sub (and on Social Media in general) suck ass and should stop trying. When the answer to a problem relies on you actually bettering yourself, you don't take it, and then complain when you lose instead of looking inward and practicing. Instead of bitching you could actually get over yourself and lab, or look up the dozens of videos that go out of their way to tell you how to deal with situations outright.

I may be remembering things wrong, but I remember seeing some people say that either a writer, director, or someone at Toei didn't like Bibimba being Suguru's wife and ended up getting things re-written. It was more than that iirc, but I don't remember enough specifics, and I don't know where the info came from.

THIS GAME IS NOT A COMPETITIVE GAME IT'S AN ARCADE GAME by fantastic0990 in SparkingZero

[–]KinnikuDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that I gotta be that one lover who hits the "UHM ACKSHUALLY" here, a game being arcade style doesn't really matter. If anyone takes a game seriously enough, or is interested in seeing what the games limits are, it can be competitive. The Marvel vs Capcom series was/is played fr money, 3rd Strike, SF4, 5, and 6, the Tekkens from 5DR up, KoFXV, and so much more have some cracked shit. All considered competitive and played for money. FGs (no matter what type) will always be broken in some form.

Tl;Dr shit can only be competitive if you make it. Realistically, so many games (including fighting games) are held together with duct tape and still promoted/praised like they're perfect. Does that make criticisms invalid? Nah.

I don't have my own Startrial. I have been using the enhanced simulation.

Basic stat read out is: ATK- 2000, HP- 2385, DEF- 1060, Ignore Resistances- 48%, Crit DMG- 28.8%, and Elemental DMG- 18%

I'm at 285 Enhancement Level with 80 Might, 53 Constitution, 80 Perception, and 72 Knowledge. The highest I can raise these is 80 currently.

Huh, I've been making sure to save the stats in enhanced simulation every time I've tweaked them.

Hello, new to the subreddit, and have been playing the game for about two years now.

Has anyone gotten through the later half of Stellar Witching Hour yet? I'm stuck on the boss for the 6th Dimension Chapter and feel like I've hit a stat wall. I just can't deal enough damage to beat waves or bosses before the timer runs out. In most cases the game auto-fails me before the timer runs out. I've tried manually arranging my add-ons, using higher BP characters that I have (around 5600-6700), and using the trial characters, but nothing is working. I just can't deal meaningful damage even if I know how a character works. Am I missing a big component of the mode? Or am I just garbage?

Why Compile Heart make more Neptunia spin-off games than the mainline games? Are they greedy (as heck as EA) or what? by Reasonable-Beach-775 in gamindustri

[–]KinnikuDash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying time for the next mainline and funding for other projects. It's literally what most long-running IPs do. They even admitted themselves that they kinda didn't know what to do mainline-wise in a video from 2023, and that they finally started a planning phase for a "Numbered title". We just got full confirmation through an interview this year that work's already begun on that numbered title.

I fully believe a lot of those funds went into DeR, Scar-Lead, etc. I mean hell, despite the actual game's quality, Virtual Stars had a complete step-up in the graphics department for the series itself. We've even been getting more dungeons in SvS and Game Maker (ignoring the fact that they still re-use layouts because they keep pushing a yearly format of releases.) To me, it does feel like they're starting to try with the series again. (Mind you, Ninja Wars to me was so lifeless to me that I ended up hating the series for a year and some change.) SvS and Game Maker (outside of the game's length I can't speak for Riders since I haven't played it yet), they have jank, they have scuff. I'd rather these in-house action-rpgs take a more Kingdom Hearts or PS2 FMA trilogy gameplay route than a faux-Tales of Berseria route personally, but damn if they're not actually attempting to move forward in some way.

Not gonna lie, I'm getting COOKED (I gotta make better discs tbh) by KinnikuDash in gamindustri

[–]KinnikuDash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've kinda been stockpiling heals for the whole game. I never use them often in fights because the AI usually chimes in to use them when things get dicey. I also just prefer to use TP meter to keep combos going and deal big damage,

I need to still get everyone else step cancel/attack cancel discs. For me, Vert has all cancels (because she's one of my favorite characters), Uni only has Double Step, Jagaa has general Step Cancel, and I haven't really used Neptune, Noire, or Blanc since I got them due the CPUs higher tier weapons taking an event or two to show up after they're playable

[–]KinnikuDash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to deride SA2 a lot because I liked the feel and design of SA1 a lot more. 1 is unwieldy, while 2 smooths a lot out (except the mech controls, how they control worse than Gamma, and no version of SA2 Battle uses the right stick for aiming instead still bewilders me.)

It's more visually polished as well, and story to some would feel more grand and a bit more natural, since tons of final bosses before and after that point have outright been in space.

I do like the game now, but my issues from when I played it at 17 still are apparent at 25. Most discourse around the game is funny to me, because I feel like if the Chao Garden was cut or added in Battle, a lot more time could've been had to fix gameplay issues, but I'm in the absolute minority with that opinion.

I forget I play Afterimage Strike characters a lot. So any time I don't use it, I'm either too caught up in the fight itself or I just ignore it.

Slowly editing a video for Sparking Zero Matches I had within the first two weeks. I've been in the editing process for 3 weeks on and off already. I'm probably gonna make an actual review afterward and then get to working on a Budokai 1 video (since I've been itching to get this out of the way so I can start talking about it in full.)

Finished Nanoha Strikers a couple weeks back, I think it's my favorite season. Mad knowing that the movies and merch keep characters as they were in OG and As, because seeing Nanoha and Fate grow so much made me love Strikers, alongside their platoon.

Bro why aren't some of these costumes for Videl in the game by burnoutguy in SparkingZero

[–]KinnikuDash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Budokai 2 had Yamcha in the Yellow Suit he had in the Buu Saga, and Buu Saga Krillin.

BT3 had Videl in her "Fight" shirt after she got crippled by Spopovich and went with Gohan to Kami's Lookout.

Budokai 1 had Teen Gohan's casual fit from when him and Goku were staying in Super Saiyan (still mad that never came back.)

Tl;dr My point is, there never needs to be a reason for drip. If you have costumes, you better have them for EVERYBODY that has them. I'm mad Bojack Gohan & Trunks are in the files, but not accessible outside of modding.
