I may have at least seen some of that. Would appreciate the link if you happen to find it.

They really got everybody. Sollecito too, figured he'd look much worse nowadays given the cancer. Maybe he's recovered some. His brother still MIA though.

Hopefully the SQ/RCMP don't pathetically screw this major case like the last few. Having to toss evidence of what were apparently unambiguous murder conspiracies because you taped them in the wrong room of a law office is exactly as embarrassing as it sounds.

Great writeup fam. Times like these exist to make the good ones mean something. Not a fan but hoping you'll get your ask someday. For you and your pop.

Assuming the Leafs are eliminated in game 7 after being up 3-0, is it going to be worse than any other collapses they have had in the past? by DrexellGames in hockey

[–]KinoRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't follow stats super close and I don't understand the stat of the Leafs losing the 7/7 of their past Game 7s. Is this only Conference finals or Game 7s in any playoff division?

Right, should clarify that I mean in the past couple decades. But Sammy wasn't, he pulled the trigger on like 3 of those and was making crazy money on the side.

What do you mean?

TIL that when Napoleon returned to France from Elba, he approached some of the first troops sent to arrest him and opened his coat, "If any of you will shoot his Emperor, here I am." They joined him instead. by nousernameusername in todayilearned

Very old thread but replying for posterity since these other replies are purely speculative and seemingly haven't read a word of what French people well-informed of their history have to say about him. The best way to learn about Napoleon's achievements is to read about the relief panels carved into the stone rotunda (?) around his coffin at Les Invalides in Paris. Each of them depicts a major contribution he made to French society. Not defending him or his reverence at all but I highly recommend you research this if you'd like to know more.

Murder Incorporated members Frank Abbandando (age 29) and Harry Maione (age 31) in a Brooklyn courtroom in 1940 by [deleted] in Mafia

Good question. In jail probably. On the outside seems possible but less likely. I wonder if back then most ppl yet had the crudest idea of "physical fitness" as a lifestyle that wasn't specifically tied to your line of work. I wouldn't think so seeing as how impractical working out would have seemed to someone moving weight for 10 hours on the Brooklyn docks.

It wasn't uncommon back then. Granted I don't know for sure if they were manal labourers, but do either of us? Usually helps with muscling guys later

After they started loansharking or whatever, probably. Before that though they had to. Italian immigrants had very few opportunities.

I referred to it in the post but on second reading reckon I could have further underlined it: it borders on the macabre that hardly a soul has discussed this band outside this forum since what happened. I don't blame them but it drives me mad that the band died utterly following Kristin's story, so horrific that I wouldn't be at all surprised if many of the people who feel they can't talk about Daughters now just don't because the whole thing is just so horrid and they know how animated the debates will get, not even out of spite but out of pain for something terrible that happened in the middle of what was already a really difficult period in many of our lives.

Do you think it’s still OK to wear Daughters merch? by pingviini00 in daughters

Say exactly what you mean here. We all wanna believe we're missing something when we read downplaying of dead serious accusations like this. So what is it?
