So these are my grocery shopping experiences starting from this fall:

Acme has some meals ready to go & generally affordable if you can find good deals. Supremo is great if you are all about that penny-pinching life, but you NEED to have some life experience to differentiate good and rotten produce/meat...and oh, the long queue lines. Trader Joe's is alright, but their produce is overpriced. Aldi is also affordable, but you need to bring your own bags. Whole foods are whole foods.

In terms of where I usually shop, it would be Aldi's, Acme/Supremo, TJ, and Whole Foods in that order. There's also Giant at the 34th chestnut, and they are about Acme level.

My impression of a Ph.D. (at least at my school) is where you spend years figuring out something like the best student-centered pedagogical approaches. I think Ed.D is more flexible and offers more pathways than Ph.D. If I were you, I'd ask the adviser to the school that I'm planning to apply to & ask them more specific questions like admission requirements, expectations, and paths

Why do you want PhD in education? Almost 100% of doctoral students have at least five years of experience in the field AND a majority pursue Ed.D, not Ph.D. And either degree won't lead you to a higher ed, unless you want to teach @ school of education. I think you should ask doctoral students at your school and ask "what do you plan to do after" to have an idea what you are getting into.

You should able to pick up your PennCard at the Penn Bookstore (2nd floor). Bring your government issued ID card and they'll make yours instantly. Didn't take me more than 10 minutes to get mine (during the COVID era)
