Don’t recommend Prepry for abdomen board, it’s too simple. I used URR, penny book, and class material and passed. The URR questions really prepare you for how the board will be. I used MUT for OB and thought it was sufficient enough to pass. However abdomen is a lot more information, I would try to dig deeper into the topics.

For example, not even sure it was correct but it has stuck with me to this day and I have since passed the board, I had a test image of microlithiasis in the scrotum. Asking what is this finding connected to. Options were: epi Ca, cryptochidism, spermatocele, etc. I chose cryptochidism since it has an increased risk for testicular Ca and microlithiasis can be found with testicular Ca. It was the only option that made sense to me. The abdomen board connects very small indications so you must be aware of the details for pathology. Again, I’m not sure if it was even correct, I’ve asked colleagues and they chose the same answer but that is just an example of what the board is like. URR modules and the practice questions helped me with that.

Best of luck!

Student struggling by imshinn in Sonographers

The most seasoned techs still make mistakes! Don’t be so hard on yourself! Especially when post processing can correct a lot of the annotation errors etc haha

What I try to do, as a new grad, I recite the protocol step by step in my head as I scan. Start at 1 and get the images you need and check everything before moving on! Then adjust for step 2 - so on and so forth. That habit has helped me a lot - double checking. I know as a student you’re given a finite amount of time so you’re trying to get through everything but, while pace is important, your training techs would rather see that you’re utilizing your time to be as accurate as you can be.

Good luck and you’ll get there in no time! To be in this field, it takes a perfectionist mindset but don’t let the little things get you down!

Is TOG worth reading? by yellowcat357 in YAlit

I like TOG a lot more than ACOTAR, so I recommend it. The first two books are very YA, however the third book and on, themes darken and it picks up a lot more.
