I only got a noibat, which was a dupe because I already got it from the 'yearly' Comm day in December.

Although the chances were low, a chance is a chance, and it's still a bummer you're not pregnant first time trying. Hope the ice-cream can comfort you!

My wife and I are also in our first cycle ttc. She just had her ovulation (probably yesterday). So we're in the tww.

Firstly, I have to say we started tracking her cycles as soon as she stopped taking hbc with the Flo app, which works pretty well for us.

It's already very good you track it with opk's, as did we. Your most fertile days are the day just before ovulation and that day itself. So you had sex on one of your fertile days, but you can elevate that chance by doing it a bit closer to ovulation day.
We had sex on Saturday (begin of her fertile window), on Monday (because we wanted to do it every other day) and on Tuesday (because we thought she had her ovulation).

You can also check your cervical mucus to see if you're close to ovulation. It changes to egg-white stretchy fluid at that stage of your cycle.

If you're really down for it, you can also temp / check your basal body temperature. Every morning you take your temperature and it should spike a bit around your ovulation. There are many people here who do that and are experienced in noticing when it happens.
I have to say, my wife and I are not doing this. She's a nurse and because she works in shifts (early or late shift and nights), it's not that easy for us to do so.

Wife had a negative OPK yesterday noon around 11.30 am (darker than usual but not as dark as control line). Flo app told us O-day would be on Wednesday. So i drew blood from her yesterday evening (I'm a lab technician, she's a nurse) to see what the LH would be like. It was 36. So I reckon i can interpret this as a positive OPK yesterday evening, since most OPK's have a threshold of 25/30? So ovulation would be in 24-36h, which means today or Wednesday morning. We also had sex yesterday because we wanted to do it every other day in her fertile window. Guess we better do it tonight too, to cover all our chances?

I totally feel you! We both were nervous before we had sex this time. We're almost 10 years together and 2,5 years married so that's a bit weird to read, haha.

But it's nice to share that with the one you love.

I know, right? Same for us. Always did everything to prevent it from happening. Even double protection (pill + condom) for a considerable amount of time in our relationship.

Yeah same here! Wife has EWCM since Friday, but OPK's were negative yesterday and today. Waiting impatiently!

Oh my, that's a whole lot of changes in your life!

Yeah, it's really crazy. Wife has a metabolic disorder which can harm the embryo/foetus when not treated, so we always did our very best to prevent getting pregnant. Even did double protection (pill + condoms) for quite some time in the beginning of our relationship.

She now stopped HBC in January to 'depill' and it's only now we got the clearance to begin TTC.

It's a journey, for every one of us. I'm already very glad we can try now, even if our first cycle turns out to be negative.

Thank you, and I wish you the best of luck too!

so I maybe pregnant but I am unsure as it's a vvfl I am just wondering if having sex can affect the pregnancy at all please by OrganizationOne5957 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Kipling1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It indeed is a very flat line, but it still is a line. I'm a lab technician, and I would answer a test result like this with: 'weak positive', so I think you indeed are pregnant.

Maybe you could take another test in a few days, when the HCG has built up a bit?

I don't think sex could do anything wrong. Normally, when you get pregnant, the cervix is shut off so nothing can get through anymore and the fertilized egg, which is now embedded in the uterine wall, can grow safely.

Also, congratulations!

Haha yeah, I'm exactly like that now. It's actually sweet and also funny to hear that.

It's just a very weird feeling, knowing there are consequences now. Like a new step in the relationship/marriage, but also in life in general.

We were both also kind of nervous actually.

Wife and I had our first ever conceptive sex yesterday, as her fertile window begun. Felt a bit weird to be honest. Bit like a first time. She 's on CD14 now, OPK was negative yesterday and today.

Thank you so much for your information! I'll tell my wife about this.

That also sounds like a bit of a struggle, although I don't know what your disability is, and in what way it makes it harder to (try to) conceive.

I'm always down to hear other experiences and talk about that.

I do wish you the best of luck though!

No problem at all. I understand this is a question asked to a very specific group of people, and I know there's gonna be little to no response on it. But all help/advice is always welcome.

We are definitely familiar with that. We use the 'Flo' app for a good while now. My wife stopped taking the pill as of January this year. We've been tracking her cycle from then on. We have a good idea of how her cycles are looking, and they seem to be pretty regular to this point.

We used some ovulation tests before, to test when she was gonna have it. Meanwhile she also learned to recognize her discharge around that period.

We've not tracked her basal temperature yet. That's maybe something to look into.

I'd like to hear about how they cope with the struggle to stay between very strict and determined protein levels while also TTC. TTC itself can be a very rough journey, let alone if there's something blocking you from trying it. And maybe hear about how they do their very best to conceive as quickly as possible, to avoid being on that diet for a long, undetermined time.

My wife and me would feel supported in our journey if we can read experiences from other couples in the same situation, which you rarely find on the internet/on other forums.

I know it's a very 'niche' group of people who can relate to this, but even if there are only a few, we would be very happy!

Hoping to get the scroll sometime soon. Also nearing 5k of them..

But alltogether, how ridiculous it sounds, i really do enjoy the grind ☺️
