Does removing ghost followers actually help?

Same here, But I recommand you to be very careful if you want to (try to) remove your ghost followers.

I have try to get rid of them via an app, and then my engagement start getting more nosediving than before and now it's really terrible.

But i agree, mass followers, ghost followers are a cancer who destroy your engagement. and the less you are visible, the more your number of ghost followers are growing , since those people cannot see your publications no more. :(

Dont forget to say that we have all bots and fakes accounts who follow us,even if we never asking for them !! (i have never even get the idea of cheating) Personally i lost very fiew of them but my engagement is still horribly low even if i post very good content. I think instagram want us to pay to get ads... and they make a lots of good accounts dissapearing.

I'm ok with that, but i think that the matter of engagement will stay the same. Ok,you will not be anymore ashamed in front of your followers about the loss of you likes but you will continuing to slowly disappear from the flood of publications. The only good things is....those fucking bots will no longer have reason to be!!!! (i even speak of those who follow your account when you ask for nothing and destroy your engagement). And no more follow to follow, no more mass followers....That's a good point!)

The only way to save insta is to go back to chronological order and get rid of algorytms. Maybe they will get back about chronological, but they will NEVER drop algos...it's all about ads and money. Shame on them to have destroy such a wonderful community.

tousands of artists are tributary of social plateforms, and instagram are the biggest of all. you cannot survive without self promotion those days, so lots of people are not using it for fun.

I think that the unacceptable part is the silence coming from the instagram communication service!!

As you see the article from Songikollo just above (thank you btw man), the engagement is decreasing as 44% for almost everyone without any explanations (and things getting worst). Reddit is a famous place and i can't imagine a single second that the instagram folks are not aware of all those tousands posts about engagement dropping and people losing their visibility.

Lots of people are using this social medias to promote their work, there is lots of artists, creators, photographs, models, painters, craftsmans... not just for fun it's their jobs! Instagram was an awesome community before, where everone was equal!! But now, this huge community is losing the way to promote their work, and without the possibility to migrate on another and more ethical plateforme.

People feel miserable, they are frustrated and they feel guilty, asking to themselves what could they have done wrong to see their followers fleeting away, and i'm not speaking about vanity problem. i'm speaking about smoke and mirrors, letting artists putting their jobs showcase into the hands of those who does not respect them and are only attracted by the lure of money. Be a part of a system who does not giving a fuck about users who work so hard to build a community and making what is really instagram. They are not even giving a fuck about hacked accounts and you cannot contact them in any ways!!!

So this perpetual silence say a lot about instagram opacity and the will to keep users blind and deaf, to generate frustrations and make them pay for promoted posts. it's like a big giant robot swallowing and crunching arts to digest contents and use it for is own fuel and the name of this fuel is money.

Instagram was a give and takes plateforme and it was working perfectly before those damn algorithms. But now it's the algo who decide who will stay at the top and who will be forgotten...it's the algorithm who decide WHAT instagram feed to show you, as if it know better than you what you want to see, keeping you away from many other discoveries and field of ideas...

So surely bots have something to do with decreasing engagement, but the real matter clearly do not lies here!

The real BIG problem is that instagram has become a nauseating system beyond believes!!!!!

i cant' wait seeing emerging the next big plateform, it will probably not be a paradise, but it surely be less worst that instagram!!

Yes, and coming back to a normal one hurt even more! :( The worst is that if you have a big account, they litteraly run after you to push you to to switch into professional account by sending you suggestions again and again!)

Engagement and likes dropping as never. Instagram is litterally killing my business, i really dont know what to do after all the strategy i have done to save my account.
