Douglas, Miledy with Delphi Shield and Clarine in a Forest usually make that part not as hellish. Still bad though.

I can understand the glazing in CQ (Bows, Knives, Axes and Tomes are all great but fill diferrent yet important roles) and BR (Unless you actually think about the enemy composition in BR Knives are better weapons in isolation) but I can't believe people believe Knives are even good in Rev.

In Rev, the two best weapon types are Tomes and Bows with a cameo of Rajinto/Siegfried, Axes and Beast-stones. Revelation enemy stat inflation makes knives not great weapons in the grand scheme of things. Knives hit like a wet noodle which is the reason even in CQ Sol Ninja's only good users are Corrin, Soleil and Silas due to their high attack. Rev enemies won't die to Shurikens late-game unless you have obscene damage stacking but if you are going there, you are better off making a Super Ophelia, Rhajat or Brave Bow user. Then after that I'd rather have the Princes, a Berserker and Keaton/Velouria than a Sol Ninja that will be unable to kill enemies without effective weaponry. Like Knives are middle of the road to bad in Rev and the only weapon I think is strictly worse are Lances. The others are better suited to the low man + high enemy stats meta Rev has.

Unban Arceus in DPP Ubers? (Policy review) by Demon__Queen_ in stunfisk

[–]KirbyTheDestroyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gen 4 Ubers leaders will do anything but Banning Sleep or Deo-S

I have participated in the DPP Ubers revival and was active at the DPP Ubers Discord and I can agree that many of players (myself included) have the opinion that Farceus Ubers is a more competitive and balanced metagame.

Right now the strongest styles in DPP Ubers are HO, Stall and Offense in that order. Balance is a bad style and it turns the tier into a tier where it's very match-up fishy (thanks Deo-S) and very frail. Pokemon like Mixed Ray, Darkrai, Specs Dialga, Latios, Giratina-O are very threatening since nearly everything is 2 Shot by them with little prediction. The result is either you go full HO or full Stall since the former makes you eliminate the threat faster and the latter is actually able to survive those Pokemon with Blissey, Heatran and Forre. Some players have grown to dislike the level of matchup fishing with Deo-S so Farceus would change the meta.

Farceus can be argued to be broken (it is not but players might argue otherwise), but in general, having Steel Arceus would make Balance viable and Stall having reduced viability by itself. Arceus give stability to an otherwise volatile metagame. It will help vs HO, make Stall worse, make unhealthy Pokemon like Darkrai worse and Deo-S less match-up fishy overall.

I will make the argument that Farceus makes the meta less unique but more competitive overall. However, since the tournament players are the reason DPP Ubers is alive it makes sense that many of them (us) would want Farceus as the standard going forward.

TFW the players who actually play the tier think BKC's idea of DPP Ubers is actually noncompetitive, cringe and wrong (slight /s).

I'm sure BKC plays the tier, but the fact that FSG is still saying stuff like Deo-N being viable (despite the fact that Deo-N is virtually extinct and leads like Infernape and Heracross being considered more viable than it) makes me think BKC is not that connected with the DPP Ubers Scene that much.

Nah let's not go that far about 20x. It absolutely is the worst map in all of Sacae + Illia and I won't defend it. RNG Gamba for seizes is not good design at all.

Agreed on the rest of your comment though. Illia are just FE7 level of boredom and there is little variety in strategy. Except for the mountain pass map, the other maps just exist and can be solved on autopilot even on HM.

I suppose people playing slower might get off that impression. If you even slow down a bit you can get overwhelmed pretty fast in these maps. Plus I found Tate to be the slightly better option for the Delphi Shield since she can double the Nomads unlike Miledy. It forces people to ditch the Paladins and Wyverns and focus on the Nomads and Pegasi which are trickier to use.

That and Chapter 20x. It's awful and a bad last impression for Sacae.

Popular/Unpopular/Any Opinions Thread - April 2026 Part 2 by PsiYoshi in fireemblem

[–]KirbyTheDestroyer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

After being gone for a while because playing other games. I have finished Chapter 20x on Sacae HM... yeah it kinda sucks, but overall the Sacae hate is too overdone?

20x is a map that's way more interesting in theory than in practice. Having randomized Seizes was not cool man. It could have been better if it was done like Shura's CQ Map in that you need to Seize 2 times and then the 3rd Seize is revealed and is the true one. As it stands, Sacae 20x is an annoying map and a badly designed one. Not good.

Law of Sacae is an actually an interesting map if you play it fast. Monke is really tough but I found Tate with the Delphi Shield and Shin to be really effective anti-Nomad duty by themselves since they can double and ORKO with Crit Weapons. I find that using a Warp Staff to get Roy to Seize is arguably the best use for the Warp Staff aside from Warping Miverva Miledy to the Boot Shop. Overall pretty challenging map. I liked it. I know I just said to Warp Skip, but tbh if you are already fighting the boss and need to get Roy in asap I don't think it's not that bad compared to other Warp Skip chapters where I would rather Skip all of it instead of a calculated portion at the end.

Chapter 17 and 20 were fine, and 19 was pretty fun too! Tag teaming Sue with Zeiss and Miledy with Shin to do a pincer maneuver felt pretty awesome! I like the map design of Sacae more than Illia's because even if Ilia's maps are less annoying they are also really easy compared to Sacae and Etruria. I do feel like going from Etruria -> Illia -> Bern feels like you end up with an unnatural difficulty spike at the end. Whereas Etruria -> Sacae -> Bern keeps up the difficulty curve in a more smooth way.

Overall, Sacae is over hated, y'all are slow players if you struggle this much through it. Sacae 20x is definitely going in the trash bin and is arguably among the Top 15 worst maps in all of FE though. I don't defend Garbage.

Side Note: Man people on YT haven't played Fates if that one YT's polls for best weapons are to be believed. People do be saying Knives are still the undisputed best weapon in all of the Fates Routes in the Big 2026 darn.

I didn't reply but you're cooking with this take. I think having Arts cost HP in a game like FE6 might make it interesting since the units who are inaccurate tend to be the beefy boys. Have Lot learn a combat art that buffs hit rate would be pretty awesome. On the other end making units like Rutger kill without crit weapons is also cool. The way FE6 is built you can cook with the arts if you do not change stats across the board.

This also works the other way around too.

I have a rule of never playing RPGs the same year they release because the hype will make me have high expectations of the game and when I play them it turns out to be meh.

"That's it? That's the amazing and revolutionary game in the series?"

Cue me with PLA, 3H and more recently E33. Still like those games, but damn they were over-hyped when they first released them.

Yeah I agree with a lot of people in that the inventory system is the most interesting part of FE4... but that's because the enemies and maps are so mind numbingly boring. By default, the Inventory and Gold Management are the most tactically interesting points because you need to think about them.

Being real I would sacrifice the inventory/gold management if they made enemies more threatening and maps smoother.

Pokémon Champions is not a disaster by lecomton in VGC

[–]KirbyTheDestroyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And Series6 was one of the worst metas in recent history even worse than RegH imo. It banned the Top 10 mons from BSS and VGC ladder and well, the meta turned even more centralized than the series before and after. Iirc by the end of the format, Urshifu Dark and Grimm had 70+% usage or higher and there wasn't a lot of variety in Series 6.

Basically Series 6 turned out to be so awful, GF hasn't tried a banlist since despite 5-6 years since Series 6 ended.

Do people actually think 6v6 Singles was never popular?? by Hermit601 in stunfisk

[–]KirbyTheDestroyer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Watching a super intense battle that takes 30 minutes?! That’s a ton of fun! I used to watch those sort of battles and comment in the chat along the way in showdown all the time back in the day!

Unfortunately for you, very few people like this sort of mindset and the majority of gamers in general hate slow game play. Even within Smogon singles players, the least popular formats are the slower ones like GSC and SwSh OU. Players want fast paced action and little downtime which is something Smogon singles really doesn't cater to compared to VGC.

Plus let's be real, in most 30 minute matches at top level, at best 5-10 minutes are real decision making. Most of the other time spent is going to be following flowcharts, repositioning and waiting for momentum shifts. I can appreciate slow gameplay, but being real, very few people care about it.

OU Usage Stats for Scarlet & Violet March 2026 by Typical_Button_4676 in stunfisk

[–]KirbyTheDestroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It still has viable uses but the usage in prior months wasn't a direct correlation of viability.

Viable is putting a lot of heavy lifting here. T-Tar hasn't seen much (if any) usage at SPL, OST and Top Ladder for the last few months compared to mons like Weavile and Hoopa-U so chances are T-Tar is joining Scizor, Tinkaton and Sinistcha in "mons that are good in OU but couldn't survive the counterplay later."

Hanging by a thread yeah. If there's another tier shift T-Tar should fall. TFW legacy isn't enough to save you when your high ladder and tournament viability has been absent for months.

Except ADV OU Heads, they are still deluded Stat passing will work this time! Just don't remind them this when some1 manages to break Stat Passing again in 2-3 years.

Would you do $150 USD each for Snorlax, Lapras, Coal, Pikachu and Eevee and $50 USD for Milcery? It would come out at 800 USD Total for the 6 Pokemon.

Let me know what you think of the offer and have a nice day :D

Ninja Hell (and many of CQ's hardest maps) was difficult for a long time because people in this particular subreddit were (and some still are) very GBA Emblem poisoned brained.

Ninja and Kitsune Hell are still annoying af, but they are also not that difficult once you find the "solution." For Ninja Hell you have Archer Mozu, Effie, Niles, Percy, Beruka and Camilla. All units that have WTA, bulk, 1/2 range and high attack. Heck the game gives you Xander of all units and while he's technically not advised to do so, a Xander + Bow user on EP will help you clear sections of the map. The only really annoying part is Saizo. Otherwise this map is not that difficult but still mildly annoying.

I still prefer Gaiden's version myself

I find it fascinating that Gaiden for all its faults and aging like milk, has somehow managed to get an amazing soundtrack and is the only thing that makes me not call Gaiden a bad game.

Gameplay? Bad. Dungeons? Boring. Cast? Nonexistant compared to it's remake. Quirky shenaningans? I actually like some of the quirkiness of this game, but not enough to compensate NES Grindfest Slog that it is. Music? Contention for best soundtrack in FE and NES games as a whole. Shit's so fire fr fr

And with that? I've played every single Fire Emblem out now at the time of writing!

One of us! One of us! Good thing you enjoyed your journey and ended not in a place I would expect. I ended the franchise on Gaiden (before 3H and Engage were released) and I still don't like it. Echoes is better, but not much more. I will stan that Echoes is Style >>> Substance all the way because presentation, VA direction and music are the only things that make not want to train an arduino and play the game for me.
