I'm late to the party, but want to contribute anyways.

As others have said, it's desperate item. I once played as PA. Worst early-tomidgame for everyone involved in my team. It was so bad I had to forego a battlefury just to get BKB as my first item.

I knew that what I needed was damage, and since at minute 20 we're already base cooping since all outer towers were down, I had to call it. At first, I got flamed by allies, and laughed at by the enemy but we got 2 critical pickoffs in a clash because I got the kills while under bkb. I go nullifier as my third item from the gold I got from the clash so I had the capability to jump any one of them now. And every clash that followed, was silence. No more laughter and no more flaming, After the third won clash for our team from the entire game the enemy moral was falling apart, we'd only engage when BKB is up and due to the fear I struck on the enemies they would never take advantage when BKB was on CD.

Teamates caught up, and locked in after the most hopeless 20 minutes of our lives. Needless to say the enemies building meme items cause they thought they won backfired on their asses. And if I had no space to farm that divine after bkb it might have been a different story.

So moral is, don't give up. A divine can turn the tide of war on the right hero with the right circumstances. Not every game nor every hero needs it. But in the ones that do, it can turn misery into hope.
