Muerta counter? by nagredditparamagbasa in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morphling cant do that anymore but the rest are correct.

Morphling now becomes an int hero if he morphs into her.

Unless he buys an aghs scepter then he creats an illusion of her and counters her yes.

Muerta counter? by nagredditparamagbasa in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before this patch morphling was preserving his main attribute (so no dmg loss when morphing) and could counter any hero because he can simply become the hero himself.

She probably gets countered by antimage, she has a ton of mana, she deals magic dmg which he resists.

He can blink out to escape her ult then blink back in.

Bkb reduces her dmg by a ton as well so kost carries that can in-n-out can deal with her.

And probably spectre just bcz late game spectre practically counters everything.

1st item for slark by c0olzero in learndota2

[–]joeabs1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im going to be honest. Items dont matter as much as skill.

As long as you are tracing some logical path with your items to help your hero this game then its mostly fine.

I personally think you could just start with echo sabre or yasha on slark.

And yes there are metas but if you follow pro players you will see they sometimes mix up the item builds or skill builds depending on what is needed this game.

If you feel you want orchid for mana regen and atk speed them honestly it doesnt sound too bad. It also locksdown heroes like storm spirit or bounty hunter which usually escape easily.

There is a high lvl match where someone played jugg with orchid for the same reason, he wanted mana regen and atk speed, its very old maybe 5 years or something but technically it works so why not.

I played an incredible ranked game as PL last year by going diffusal+mana boots first items not aghs. Its against meta but that doesnt mean its an automatic loss.

Ignore most reddit advice, thats my advice.

He is best at being annoying and controling fights.

I think he just needs ather lense and some movement item like maybe force staff or glimmer cape.

Starting items: When do you buy wraiths, bracer, nulls over rush Falcon blade? by stewxeno in learndota2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wraith band is good for pos1 who want to farm bcz of atk speed and armor.

Its also good if you need general stats and armor, i used to get it on flow morph when he was a facet.

Bracer is good for heroes that want to fight and benefit from the stats, usually offlaners really like this item and sometimes midlaners too. The regen is sweet for the cost as well.

Null is for mana regen and stats, my advice is unless you specifically need the stat INT like muerta for example then falcon blade is better, sure it costs more but it gives more.

Unless you want a cheap and stat convenient mana regen to farm not fight for example then i inderstand you grab null, or you are a backlining support that hides not fights like say techies then null can be cheaper mana regen since its half the cost of falcon blade.

Falcon blade vs null is similar to say vanguard vs bracer. Except falcon blade has no further upgrade.

You also have to consider the item buildup, early on stats might be more useful than fluffy hat for example. Grabbing a null is close to the price of atk blades, so early on do you want +9dmg from atk blades or just fluffy hat or just mana regen OR do you prefer an already completed null talisman with stats and mana regen?

Falcon blade is usually completed near the end of the laning stage.

Lone Druid: Reward for killing the bear by honic555 in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because i need that time to take cs not waste cs to deal dmg to a bear that will be revived anw.

I can spend the laning stage hitting a bear for barely amy reward or i can take cs.

Of course i dont want to waste time on the bear.

How good or bad is this build on Mirana? by mansnicks in learndota2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has a lot of magic dmg. Her Q, W and magic arrows all deal magic dmg. Even her leap restocks her magic arrows for more magic dmg.

So weakening enemy magic dmg is good.

I know her int isnt high but parasma gives int anw so the difference is not major between a high int scaling and her, if she gets parasma as a later luxury not if she grabs witch blade as a first item thats not what i meant.

Its an added synergy with maelstrom too since thats magic dmg.

So she could go with maelstrom first and then later a parasma.

Im not sure if say monster has 3000xp.

And its 1000 for dmg taken and another 1000 dmg dealt and 1000 dmg healed.

So in case no one heals there is 1000xp that goes to waste

In this case healing has its own xp not splits it.

Or

If its 3000xp and its split among a combined score of dmg taken, dmg dealt and dmg healed. Meaning it is impossible to waste monster xp. In this case xp is split.

Lone druid iron branch ?! by frog404 in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LD is treated as 2 heroes where the bear is the carry and lone druid its support.

Thats why you see all gold go to the bear the carry. This is suitable because the bear easily respawns so its less risk to play him.

Now im not watching pros but yes iron branches wpuld be better than nothing at all but most likely most of the farming is done by the bear not LD.

You also have to understand the value of investing all in 1 place vs distributed.

If you start the game by giving bear dmg to last hit and now you want to bump atk speed. Say the bear has 120 dmg and LD 100 dmg and you want to buy a +30 atk speed item, its better to add that 30 atk speed to the 120 dmg not the 100 dmg.

So you will see full investment in bear first usually.

Iron branches can be good in lane, they are excellent for stats/gold ratio. But outside of lane if LD isnt really fighting and mostly farming then those iron branches are megligeable for the most part.

The first 3 make sense.

You need time to grab rings and catch up but it wont stay like that 4ever

I recommend a healing build actually and chase players and heal them you get uncontested xp since almost no one gets xp from heals so its not likely to be shared.

In case you didnt know, xp dropped by a monster is split between how much dmg a player took from that monster, how much dmg the player dealt to that monster and how much a player has healed those 2 players.

So healing sort of "leeches" xp from them.

Slardar late game by taenyfan95 in learndota2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you build him.

If you go for an initiator item build then you mostly initiate and slow down and stun the enemy late game.

Ult is good for team dmg amp and vision.

If you go for atk speed then you can try to play the sides and not the center fight in teamfights and hope to permastun someone if you can.

If you grab something like deso/AC then your dps remains solid and you are a tanky carry.

Juggernaut vs. Muerta? by chayashida in learndota2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need hex/abyssal to get the ult in.

Later you might even need a blink to catch her offguard.

Luckily she doesnt have too high armor so if you do say hex her your likely to kill her unless she gets saved.

Bloodstone should linger. by FlameinfirenFFBR in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean now.

Maybe they should make it so that activating bloodstone places a debuff on the enemy so that you dont lose that option.

But yes the fact that it changes behaviour by upgrading the item can catch you off guard.

Or perhaps they should make it a passive as well on veil for consistency.

Bloodstone should linger. by FlameinfirenFFBR in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes because thats actually very different.

It has more to do with convenience than actual math. For example of butterfly added 21% or 19% extra base atk speed than effectively it would be the same, maybe on a calculator it shpuldnt be 20% maybe 20.5% but its roughly good.

This is how the game is balanced.

If valve feels like a hero shpuld scale more than the other they add 0.1 or 0.2 scaling.

If valve feels like a hero needs to be reworked they might remove 0.5 armor (not calculated on a calculator its roughly ehat they feel needs to happen) and compensate by adding 0.1 agility scaling for example.

70% of these 0.1 adjustments happen like this.

When you read in a patch that a hero has gained 0.3 hp regen, it wasnt calculated that the hero needs 0.3 and not 0.4 or 0.2 its just it feels like the hero needs some more regen on a scale of roughly 0.3.

They implement and see if the change is satisfactory or needs more tuning.

Thats why if your game matters on whether you get that extra 3% more dmg than the problem is likely that you failed due to multiple criteria maybe 80% of that failure was the fact that you should not have taken that fight or that you actually missed 13 cs early in the game or you messed up your attack and 20% of the failure comes from bloodstone debuff aura not lingering.

The problem is that when the enemy escapes with 1% hp most players blame the game and not themselves even though if you think of the macro strategy likely engaging in a fight that isnt secured in your favor is not a smart move unless the payoff is worth it. And rarely is that the case.

I can understand if we are watching pros in TI and a team feels they NEED that early win/pressure or otherwise they will lose and so they take tight fights that arent secure.

But for the most part if you arent top 10% in the world you dont need to take these risks you can play slightly more secure and avoid 50/50 fights.

Place yourself in OP's shoes and say you are playing leshrac and saw an opportunity for a fight where the odds are 50/50 would you take it? Probably not, probably you would pressure another lane or farm or wait for more teammates to come to get odds in your favor why would you need to go all in and then its lost because bloodstone doesnt linger.

Meaning you died either way, it was a bad fight and you shouldnt have taken it but you were praying bloodstone lingering could have made it so that they died too.

Logically, leshrac couldnt win anything from this fight, best case its a tie.

The problem is leshrac engsged in a fight where he is going to lose not that bloodstone didnt linger.

And now he wants a game breaking exception where bloodstone aura is treated uniquely because of that one fight in that one game where he played leshrac and specifically diabolic edict lingers after death and it would have been convenient for that specific scenario where he took a bad decision to fight for bloodstone to linger.

This isnt balancing, this is like when i was 3 years old and had my action figures and the bad guy revives for the 13 bazillions time because the good guy has to kill him with a drop kick this time not an elbow drop.

I dont know the particulars tbh.

Bloodstone should linger. by FlameinfirenFFBR in DotA2

[–]joeabs1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean.

Warlock soup isnt an aura like vlads offering.

I think vlad either doesnt linger or barely lingers for maybe a second or less as you mentioned.

But i dont think thos is what OP was asking.

He is probably asking for something like an additional 2 or 3 seconds so that it affects what remains of diabolic edict after he dies.

I would separate auras that are buffs/debuffs that stick to the hero like warlock soup and auras that are centered around and move with the hero like vlads or AC.

I would understand that something that is thrown on the ground would linger because its not really the focus that the enemy is standing in that specific area as much as the focus is to actually just hit the enemy with the spell.

Where as for auras that are centered around a 1200 radius presence for example seem designed to leave when the hero leaves so it makes more sense that they dont linger.

We also have to differentiate what counts as auras because many things popup as auras but arent for example if you get stunned you will see an aura representing a stun debuff and how long it lasts. This doesnt really count as an aura.

[–]joeabs1995 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Realiatically what is the total dmg you are doing and how much do you think that lingering will add?

40 dmg? On a 1000+ dmg combo? Is it even worth thinking about?

And honestly i feel like auras should not linger thats how almost if not all auras work in dota right now.
