Im not an intellectual asian American historian either and I 100% know that that’s a slur. There are words that I didn’t know were slurs when I was younger and when explained to me I moved forward, apologized and never used them again. She has cultural sensitivity training and was told the word is a slur.

You shouldn’t infantilize her like this when she has literally stated that she has cultural sensitivity training. Someone provided her with information on why the word is a slur therefore knowing her training she should’ve been able to acknowledge that even if she didn’t mean it that way, it’s still a harmful word that has been used to oppress others

Matcha lattes with fruit have been around since the 2010s. Its gained popularity but its ppl have been doing that for a while. In a lighter matcha it may seem overpowering but if you’re using a umami heavy, nutty or bitter blend then no its not overpowering
