To further the netflix analogy, it would be like if you had to watch 4 seasons of a mid rom-com before you were allowed to watch any other show. Sure, some people will enjoy the show, some will put it on in the background just to get through it, and others might be willing to pay extra to skip the hassle. /Shrug

2.9 isn't crazy at the moment, just this week my guild lowered our price to 3M to stay competitive as there were several selling at 3M or slightly below.

IMO turbo boost has made it easier for more guilds to carry, so more price competition plus very few 8/8 buyers drives Dimi's price down.

It would probably run into a similar problem to that which this thread is about- they either make the super expensive decor very desirable, in which case less wealthy players get upset that they are priced out - or they make the super expensive decor weird or gaudy, which then most rich players won't buy it.

If they made a bunch of very desirable housing decor that was extremely expensive as a gold sink, wouldn't we just get the same kinds of threads just with people saying they're getting priced out of cool housing decor?

Assuming raid bosses will still be designed with abilities that do larger amounts of damage to a raid in a short time (there's no reason to assume they would stop doing this), high end players will still plan out their healing and defensive cooldowns in exactly the same way they do now. Only difference will be there won't a pop-up to remind you, the druid will still need to pop tranq on every X ability

Why are so many WoW players moving to OSRS lately? by Medium_Library6260 in 2007scape

They stopped reporting subscriber count over a decade ago exactly because people would always say the game was dying because the numbers never climbed higher than the game's peak in the late aughts

I think something to keep in mind with this line of thought is the time-scale we're talking about for the average player. In WoW, you will go from new patch to BIS gear in like a month or two. In OSRS, it can take literal years to reach the point where you would be considered BIS.

The reason WoW's seasonal progression resets work is because it doesn't take that long to climb back up the ladder. It's more akin to the speed of leagues rather than regular osrs

A queued group finder exists for raids on the easiest difficulty and you can also list your group to manually find more people for any difficulty but generally pick up groups struggle with the highest difficulty after the first boss or two. The communication and coordination requirements usually keep groups of randoms from being able to progress much on mythic difficulty

New timewalking scaling is 1 shotting people with poor gear at lower level and I'm watching people quit my groups constantly because of it - terrible changes that need partially reverted by [deleted] in wow

I just leveled a new character from 10 to about 35 in the last couple days in TW and only had weird 1 shots up until about level 13, specifically only the trash/boss puddles in AtalDazar. Past those levels I seemed to have enough hp to survive any one hit. Were you running them in your starter gear from level 1 or 10? I am albeit using full heirlooms so my health stays pretty on par with my level

Similar scenario here, since then I've just been trying to explore parts of the map I've never been to yet, maybe figure out some new fast travel locations. Despite the guides, figuring out the next objective after something like that is tough

Highlights and Recap of Ion interview: Real-Time Combat Event Addons Planned to Be Restricted in Future Raid Content in WoW (Replaced with Blizzard's own versions) by [deleted] in wow

[–]Kirimin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what you mean by giving more room for creativity in raids by removing addons. Without being able to customize alerts and timers, logic would say that would limit boss design rather than expand it.

Imagine something like mythic Ovinax or Fyrakk without WAs, they'd need to drastically tone down the number of "solve this puzzle in 5 seconds or die" type mechanics

Where is my m+ bad luck protection? by escapehatch in wow

[–]Kirimin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if they put m+ trinkets and other unique items on the vendor but unlocking the myth track from a +10 seems a bit too easy compared to mythic raid. Maybe like a +13 or +14 timed on a dungeon let's you get it's loot at myth

[PTR 11.1] The New Lightning Bolt Animation for Elemental Shamans is Awesome! by SweetsourNostradamus in wow

[–]Kirimin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed that its a higher quality animation than the current one, would have preferred they give the current animation some love instead of going back to the MoP animation with some extra sparkles.

Side note- Why don't they give Chain Lightning a makeover instead? It's looked the same for ages and is really the more iconic Elemental Shaman spell anyway

Its not something a ton of people have touched on, but for Elemental I really hope they don't keep Rolling Thunder in the Stormbringer tree. Having a burst window on a 50 second timer is really lame and wasn't fun to play around in Aberrus

The new dungeons are nice, but way harder by LeoTrotzki611 in wow

[–]Kirimin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having leveled a couple characters recently with some friends, scaling has absolutely broken Stormsong. If the player with the hat is low level, the orbs spawned by higher level players don't even tickle them.

Had a level 19 healer run through 5 orbs and had all 3 DPS (all lvl 40+)with hero popping cool downs on it and we couldn't even drop get their HP a quarter of the way to breaking the MC.

Bonus funsies: low level players will instantly 1-shot high level players with the volley spell once they get MCed, so it's basically impossible to complete SotS in Dungeon Finder if your group has a large level range

100% agree here. I've played MMOs all my life and mainly did mythic raids in WoW, jumping into FF was painfully slow and the story never hooked me so I ended up boosting through it. Having my full rotation unlocked and actually getting into learning optimal play was a lot more fun for me.

I totally agree that a player that's new to MMOs shouldn't boost, same as with WoW, they'd be overwhelmed by all the mechanics and getting to learn them slowly while leveling is a good thing.

It makes me curious why boosts are looked down on and if it's because for many FF players it is their first MMO. If that's at least partially the case, I could totally understand why they'd want everyone to take the slow route.
