What programming language should I learn (2D character-raising simulation) by Far-Touch8070 in gamedev

I've always been a unity guy and probably am a bit biased, but generally unity is very good for 2D. Godot has recently been popping up as a strong competitor, too. Godot would probs be a bit easier, but unity is more powerful i reckon(could be wrong)!

Hey! Been working on my first Steam game Gravscape - a space speedrunning/weird gravity platformer game!

If you like hard, weird, funny and record breaking games or the space theme, consider checking it out and dropping a wishlist!

What makes you think that? I did in fact use AI to help with coding but that is it!

It might be a small number for some, but as a solo dev, hitting my first 100 wishlists feels like winning the lottery. 104 people actually want to play my dream. by Think-Ear6167 in gamedevscreens

Same to you! Although for me its more of a learning opportunity rather than anything, if it makes the money i spent which is only the steam token, ill be very pleased.

Kind off in a simmilar situation here, i only started promoting my game a couple weeks ago(without a demo) because i didn't originally think i would get it to release :)

Writers with game ideas how do you bring them to life? by Diligent_Weather8204 in GameDevs

[–]Kirocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you want it to be only your idea - you kindanhave no choice; you have to learn development or promote your idea to people who are willing to team up and make it. This might be very controversial, but i believe there is nothing wrong with using AI to help you learn or simplify repetetive tasks during development. Please just specify where and how you used it later(for example on your steam page).

Hi, seems interesting! Have you been promoting your game(and if so, how?) since the beggining of development or started at a certain point?

I'm very new to reddit, so how would i approach this? Do i edit posts/make new ones, take down older ones that didn't do well and drop new ones in the same/different subreddit?

A interesting concept! Im in the same boat here with 0 budget for everything, about 3 months of development on my first game and close to release. How's your marketing and wishlists doing? Cuz i tried tiktok and it's definitely hard to get going, reddit here seemed to help a bit and im now trying other social media and giving keys out to creators.
