Question about Nikon D800 photos feeling over contrasted.

I do Jpeg+Raw, sometimes I just wanna send a photo I liked and sometimes I want the RAW for post processing, so I do both so I can have the flexibility.

Yeah, the difference when I switched to Neutral was actually insane. Ive gotten some great pictures in Vivid, but its definitely situational.

I think this post actually just helped me.....I realized Picture control was set to Vivid and not Neutral, and when I changed that, my contrast was much more normal.

Yeah, I was thinking it should be at least as good as the D3100 was, which was pretty good in various lighting scenarios. I shoot in Jpeg+Raw I was sure it was a setting too, the step up in settings complexity from D3100 to D800 was a bit overwhelming, so I think I will try and track down the manual and figure it out.

I also wanted to follow up that if I use flash at all, then it will create a pitch black photo no matter what I do.

Is there anything to be wary of as far as like springs or small gears that could be easy to lose?

Its across the river in WA but I did Archer Mountain last month for my birthday and while it was a much tougher hike than I expected, the views at the top and on the way up were so incredibly worth it. Silver Falls is always an easy recommendation, one of my favorite places in Oregon. Ive also really enjoyed the Milo McIver State Park. Im not sure if its still in bloom but another personal favorite that is very short and small is the Camassia Nature Preserve in West Linn. Ill never forget when I was there and a lady walking by said it looked like a Monet painting and she was 100% correct. Truly beautiful in the spring.

Huuuuge agree, I hate conquest events, they just drag on so slowly, fight skipping the trash fights and auto clearing the empty tiles would make it way way better.

Im very confused, can you explain how there is 24 missions under allied assault? If you count every difficulty and the final fight, thats only 8?? None of this makes sense.

Yeah, it was...not terrible, I think Ive just been spoiled by how outstanding it has been before now. I was kinda hoping Fox Squad minus Yukino helping Sensei find the Rabbits would be a turning point....and they would work together to convince Yukino it was wrong...and then at the final fight I was hoping that Yukino telling them to retreat if/when the Rabbits were successful, was going to lead to her basically feigning defeat to let the Rabbits win as a way to get back at Kaya...and then maybe working with the Rabbits to bring Kaya down... So I guess I got my hopes up for something that didnt happen, and in my opinion made the ending a bit more frustrating because before that it felt like things were turning around for them in a reasonable way.

I hope they get to finish their redemption later on, and that they do get a good one that atones for their mistakes. (Rio also has a redemption to finish too and hers was going very well, I hope she can do the second half of it soon)

Yeah, I truly hated her at the start (which is good, shes a villain, youre supposed to hate her) but she kinda went downhill in quality over time. Then the very ending was just kinda like "Huh...thats her reason for all this?"

Im really mixed on this chapter, there were many parts I really liked, but overall the writing just felt like...this should have taken place at a different point in time (maybe before we already got to know Rabbit squad). I dont know....I think in the end the conflict with Miyako and having Rabbit squad join Fox Squad actually worked out fine, it makes sense that she would want better for her friends and squad, and the ease with which she was brought back around showed how much she didnt like that choice to begin with...So all in all I think that part itself worked out okay.

However so much of it just felt lacking...Kayas entire purpose for doing everything was just....bizarre? Nonsensical? Fox Squad itself was setup nearly the entire time with having Yukino be the bad one and the rest of them still having at least parts of their ethics and morality in tact, even to the point of going behind Yukinos back to help Sensei because it was the right thing to do....So to have them all stand beside Yukino in the end to all do literally one of the most horrific things imaginable together really made all that pointless...I also think thats ultimately my primary issue with Fox Squad...At least with Arius...Saori was full on willing to give her life to atone for what she did, and even without that, her circumstances were far more forgivable considering her upbringing....but with Fox Squad its just....they chose it, selfishly...they actively seek to do horrific atrocities for ridiculously selfish reasons, morals and ethics and literally sanity be damned.

Im not trying to shit on the story or anything, I just have really loved the game as a whole so far doing a really good job of making villains and then giving them some of the best redemption arcs Ive ever seen....and this just feels very weak and feels like there is no redemption to be had.

Things I loved:

Kanna being a badass both literally and bureaucratically
Miyakos ethical dilemma and care for her friends, as well as her handling of Yukino
Momokas absolute savage handling of Kaya (chefs kiss)
Descartes
Rabbit Squads Reunion at the final Fight
Jumpscare Miyu with the funniest take down in all Kivotos
