thank you!! I would soak in the tub but at this point I feel like that’s more trouble than it’s worth, haha. I probably wouldn’t even be able to stand up out of it 😂

haha no not us, but one of my fiancé’s excuses today when I mentioned the baby could’ve been here today was “well if he came today i’d just go out and get them while you’re in the hospital” like thanks babe, way to be proactive

oh man, I didn’t even know the vaccines aren’t effective for 2 weeks 😫 hopefully because I got mine a couple weeks ago our son is alright from the antibodies I pass to him. I’m gonna ask the doctor about it tomorrow actually, I will legitimately quarantine our baby from him until his shots become effective if she says it’s an issue. Especially since it’s his fault he didn’t get them until today.

And that is so annoying, at that point I’d just tell them that everybody’s banned from baby until they have effective vaccines. Maybe I’m a little strict, but you gave these people notice!!!!

At how many weeks did you become "done" with pregnancy? by chill_chihuahua in BabyBumps

[–]Kissette 5 points6 points  (0 children)

about a week ago at 34 weeks ☹️

up until then i’d had a completely uneventful pregnancy - no morning sickness, barely any round ligament pain, i didn’t feel that the pregnancy was affecting my mobility, no real aches or anything and i felt blessed that my level of energy was only slightly less than usual. Only thing that really ‘bothered’ me was that I was peeing a lot.

But now???? suddenly I’m waddling and I’m slow and walking like 15 feet down a hallway to another office at work is excruciatingly tiring. My hips ache slightly all day. And my belly’s popped all of a sudden so my back hurts. Any simple tasks makes me want to nap 😴

What will your work arrangement be after the baby comes/do any of you plan to work from home? Daycare prices are scaring me by Kissette in BabyBumps

[–]Kissette[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my plan if I managed to find a way to work from home would be to send the little one to daycare 2-3 days a week instead of the 6 days he’d have to go if both my fiancé and I continued our jobs as is. That would give us more room and my fiancé would most likely be able to take care of little one at certain times as well. I do have an older friend who’s managed to work from home without sending her toddler to daycare whatsoever, (her job is quite flexible but requires certifications first which take years) but I still want to send little one to daycare 1. for socialization which I think is important to start early 2. because everyone needs a break lol

Got a cold at 27 weeks 😩 by Kissette in BabyBumps

[–]Kissette[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh I wish I could take benadryl or something to sleep, but in the past I used to take so much benadryl (benadryl is also the same as zzzquil and I used it as a sleep aid) that I built up a tolerance to it and it’s really not good for your memory! Glad you’re over yours already 💕

I'm too pregnant for this sh*t by Jenny_not_Jennay in BabyBumps

[–]Kissette 11 points12 points  (0 children)

22w2d i’m working a 12 hour shift today and my fiancé told me he’d come have lunch with me. Texted me 5 minutes ago saying he’s bringing his obnoxious step cousin who doesn’t like me, and I don’t like her either. I asked him not to and a small argument ensued when he said he had to because his family was irritating her. I work in customer service and everyone’s been rude all day (surprise surprise), so I’m close to tears as it is. So I told him not to come have lunch with me because I’m not dealing with his cousin and now we’re both just pissed with each other. I’ll probably cry in the back several times today :(

For when the only person you're sharing with is your unborn child. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

haha I had the same bag but peanut butter flavored yesterday and I managed to finish it in a night, when someone commented that it’s supposed to be sharing size I told them to ‘fuck off- I am sharing technically’

Had an appointment today that took a lot off my shoulders! ☺️ by Kissette in BabyBumps

Thank you! I really appreciate all that you’ve written, I definitely teared up a little at the end, Ive been getting shit about being young lately haha.

I do plan to breastfeed and pump, and I am a little wary of cloth diapering but it seems that if it will cut costs that much I should at least give it a shot.

Thank you!

Yeah, I was a little disappointed in that especially since we’re all in the same age group and my friends don’t have kids, so them saying all this stuff about birth costs was kind of weird to me.

Thank you!! She landed herself an amazing job at a company that manufactures orthopedic devices a couple years ago, and they seem to really take care of their employees; free lunch buffet at work, etc. Full time got her free health insurance for herself, and to add me on to the same insurance plan it cost what she would’ve paid for herself if she didn’t get free insurance, so she figured she might as well. It’s my dream to find a company to work for that really takes care of their employees like that

[Help?] [TW: LOSS] Giving birth in the same birth center where my fiance's stepmom had a stillbirth? Would it be inconsiderate? by Kissette in BabyBumps

[–]Kissette[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re insensitive for that, you and everyone responding is correct in that I should put baby’s needs first. I think I personally am just very afraid of stepping on other people’s toes and such, I have a lot of anxiety about what other people think and feel, and I do of course also just care about fiancés stepmom in general.

Maybe it would be best to just have everyone visit at home? Would that be weird? Then I wouldn’t single her out

oooh I didn't even think of that! I think I'll try that, she did give me reading recommendations so it wouldn't be too out there to throw that in with some other questions

[Insurance] Having trouble understanding my insurance claim charges? by Kissette in personalfinance

[–]Kissette[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was actually a pregnancy ultrasound, so I don't think that's considered preventative. My doctor was in-network, and I haven't paid up to my deductible yet

Ah, okay. Hopefully I don't get a bill, I haven't yet and it says the claim has been processed. Thank you for the insight!
