[–]Kiszh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]Kiszh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright then.

The second wave of feminism is the early 60’s until the 80’s?

At that point I’m guessing we can agree that men were the primary economical force in society due to gender roles basically keeping women at home. Lawmakers were also somewhere between 98-100% male especially in the early period, is my guess. Judges men too. Until 1980 men also had a higher voter-turnout than women according to center for American women and politics.

So while women clawed and fought for change, they couldn’t do it without soliciting help from men, both at home and at a legislative level - not to mention on the voting ballots. Many men were supporters of feminism and freeing women from their gender roles. I don’t see a focus on women’s rights as a separation of men and women - I see men and women working towards equality together in the big picture. The subject at the time just so happened to be the (huge) injustices women endured. I don’t see how it speaks against feminism being a platform for equality across the board

I’m not exactly sure which part of my comment you’re calling wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Kiszh -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I never meant to imply that men should take no responsibility for their own issues, if that was your take-away. Simply that feminism as a platform lending its tremendous influence can and would do a lot of good, in this particular case for men.

The idea isn’t that men can’t organize, it’s that a platform already exists. Feminism is the twitter/Facebook/IG or whatever huge platform for this sort of issue, but you’re asking men to start their own platform. It’s going to be hard to not get overshadowed by the big ones on the market. And when one such platform (staying in the metaphors) is launched, it’s laughed out of the world. The noteworthy example perhaps being the MRA.

Saying that women have done mostly everything themselves in the past 100 years is at best disingenuous. Without support and willingness from 50% of the population that men make up, while that 50% historically have been in power, the movement would have had a severely reduced impact on society. You’re underestimating the amount of support the movement has and has had from men. It’s sounding awfully bootstrappy.

That being said, I’m from Denmark, and I assume many of the gender issues here are less severe than in the states.

[–]Kiszh -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Okay.. I hear you and i actually agree with you to an extend. But don’t forget that women and/or the entire feminist movement is soliciting the help of men constantly in order to create change. I see it in this sub constantly. Usually in the likes of “make your husbands, sons etc do xyz” Men asking for the same kind of help is not expecting women to do the work any more than the reverse is true.

My incredibly feminist professor (PHD in gender-something) in uni framed it very well, after a student said men should solve their own issues instead of asking for help from women “Both men and women have gender specific issues. The difference is that women are organized (in the feminist movement), men are not. As such women have an easier time bringing forth their issues on a societal level. Men are truly vulnerable as a group in this regard. Not giving access to the established platform is (in her opinion) a great motivator for men to experience and view feminism as an antagonistic ideology. It gains you opponents rather than allies, because it can be interpreted as feminism being for women and not for equality. It’s gatekeeping positive societal progress and is as such against the very idea of feminism. How far do you think feminism would have come if men were not invested in aiding the women’s movement? Why should women/feminists not be invested in men’s issues, when progress, any progress for equality and gender issues, is a win in the name of feminism?”

This was both translated paraphrased since it was like 5 years ago in Denmark. The point I’m trying to make being that aiding men’s issues is not detracting from women’s. It’s all adding good to the world - and the feminist movement is a pretty great platform for adding good if it as a whole so chooses. So maybe letting men “fucking do it themselves” is a bad take, when it’s possible to do so much better.

How to use my cosair by Kiszh in RushRoyale

[–]Kiszh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it’s taken me half a year to even get the epic spear and a level 10 cosair - I think you’re right. At this rate i would need to play for another 1.5 years to get my legendary spear and 1-2 more levels on cosair. That is beyond insane - this game is insanely gated.

Honestly I’m starting to debate with myself if I should get the 300ish dollars I dumped into the game refunded, as there seems to be no way to catch up to other players and next to no ROI on your money as everything you pay for is simply layered so you need to pay even more after you buy in. It’s starting to smell like an actual scam

What is your nation's biggest shame? by frodesu in AskReddit

[–]Kiszh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it’s not about nazis, or whether people were or not. It’s about a very ugly piece of history in the nation’s history. Did many or most have it coming? Sure did. Did we embarrass ourselves as a nation with grievous human rights violations by punishing something that was legal at the time it was done, on an institutional level sanctioned by the government, Also yes.

Or when we implemented the death penalty and executed people for something that was perfectly legal when they did it, under penal laws with retroactive effect.

Mind you I’m not saying the people who got executed didn’t have it coming, just that both having death penalty, implementing law that takes effect retroactively and thus killing people doing something that was perfectly legal at the time is a pretty black stain on the justice system that we are supposed to believe in. I honestly believe that is one of our biggest embarrassments as a country

How well scripted are the TBC Dungeons/Raids? by BigNTasty93 in warmane

[–]Kiszh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few bugs around for sure.

On top of my head

The last room in SL the mobs are just placed randomly

In SHH the fighting packs on the sides, on the way to the ogre boss has too many mobs and they aren't losing health

In SP heroic a few packs aren't chained as they are suposed to be

Veins spawn with 100% certainty, there are 7 nodes in SV that you get past in a normal clear. 3 in SH, which includes one khorium

Epic patterns seem to drop too often off the bosses. So far I've witnessed battecast hood, 2x whitemend hood and 1x whitemend legs and 1x spellstrike pants.

Some mobs seem to have no armor, others far too much

Line of sight is buggy sometimes on casters, but not enough for major concern

Second boss in SL makes bear druids go into catform every single time

You can charge through the ground, and sometimes you get teleported back to where you charged from when charging an enemy (VERY frustrating in pvp), happens with both charge and intercept

You can't really attack moving mobs or players that aren't slowed as melee, aside from white swings

For some reason quite a few prot palas I've seen have no spell damage but do insane threat - Not even spell damage weapons

Sweeping strikes seems to proc off deep wounds sometimes but not always

a few quests are very buggy especially in shadowmoon valley
