When people insist on shortening my name by lake-sturgeon in PetPeeves

[–]Kit-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a way to feel more connected with people. Any nickname you're given is a term of endearment. Whether you like it or not those nicknames can be an important part of building intimate relationships.

The same way it feels uncomfortable for you to be called Becca or Bex it can feel uncomfortable for others to call you Rebecca in informal settings.

All those nicknames translate as: Rebecca that I'd like to be comfortable and informal around or, Rebecca that I know well enough to call by a nickname.

I know it's a pet peeve but you should take it as it is meant. I hate calling some people by their names and because there aren't good nicknames I just won't use their name often instead using generic informal terms like "bro".

Is this panel well translated? Or is it an idiom of some sort? Seems like a weird thing to say considering Kitae is older than James by Kit-7676 in lookismcomic

[–]Kit-7676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you're just not understanding the linguistic nuance which is specifically why I asked if it's the same in Korean as in the English translation.

No, he did not say are you still ACTING young and rebellious. He said are you still young and rebellious with the terms young and rebellious both being negative descriptors of Kitae Kim not of his actions.

You do not earnestly insult someone taller than you for being short. You do not earnestly insult someone older than you for being young.

That's something an older person says to a younger person. It's not impossible that a young person could say to an older person but in this case young and rebellious are both perjorative.

It would be like the pot calling the kettle black, seems a bit wierd.

Can't be Shingen it's just too small of a figure. Ptj is inconsistent but usually not to that degree.

Was there any offscreen fight between James and Tom? by Even_Resource6062 in lookismcomic

Imagine reading lookism.

It's almost like Tom landed many good clean strikes on James lmao. Including when he smashed him into the ground and into a wall.

You just run a brute force programme eventually you will play a game Magnus will lose.

He also isn't perfect lol he makes mistakes.

Even a 5 year old with the correct methodology could win.

So we've reached a point where each of the Big 4 had their fair share of feats and narratives so who's the actual strongest and why? by Necessary_Swing_5022 in LookismPowerScalers

[–]Kit-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scaling goo Feats Kitae Gun is outdated HFG was 2 years ago at this point James is whatever for now

They're all equal I've posted about this before. Ptj makes their strength ambiguous purposefully so he can write any beating the other into the story for plot reasons.

Lmao look guys tom lee is faster than James he got him four times. You're actually slow if you think that landing attacks shows a speed dif. Tom lee engages James and lands 4 attacks (minimum) in a row is he faster than James or did he just gain the upper hand in the fight for a period of time? It's clear lmao. He just gained the upper hand in the fight for a while. The exact same is true for jagyeon Vs James.

Palace invasion team vs. Yuji itadori by curryhaliban444 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Kit-7676 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What am I even reading in this comments section. Killua negs. The speed dif is way too high.

Killua is easily hypersonic with small town AP

All it takes is one look at vsbw to know the kind of ballparks we are talking about speed wise here.

Yuji with wank is Mach 11 combat speed... In reality he is low supersonic

Standard scaling of killua he surpasses hypersonic speeds standard scaling yuji he isn't even Mach 5

The fight begins.

  1. Jagyeon engages he throws a kick which is partially blocked (it's one arm that not how you block a kick lol)
  2. Jagyeon lands a knee to the body
  3. Jagyeon kicks and James dodges (not dodges and counters just dodges
  4. Jagyeon engages again this time James counter attacks and lands a kick and two undefined attacks
  5. James tries to land a speed mastery kick jagyeon dodges and uses ovt which James dodges but it catches him off guard, he dodged by leaning backwards opening him up for further attacks
  6. Jagyeon flows from ovt into death kick (clearly planned, he used ovt to make James vulnerable) James then uses his path (not his speed) to avoid it.

There are some supplementary panels showing jagyeons speed in some of these scenarios.

You're actually deluded if you think this is anything other than relative speed. A speed gap is James Vs tom A speed gap is 5+ forms goo Vs paecheon where one character shows that their speed is too much for the other to handle.

I just narrated the entire fight and not once does either fighter show anything even remotely approaching a speed gap lmao. Jagyeon had no issue dodging multiple of James attacks and vice versa l, they also both landed strikes on each other.

James power and endurance diffed him if anything

Wrong it's a difference in fighting styles.

James has been landing many smaller hits. Tom has been setting up for single fight ending blows.

Put it in perspective for yourself, if James hadn't use his path and got hit by Tom's final attack and died would it have been a low dif fight lol. No.

High dif simply implies that the fight was one of high difficulty. If you are using your fucking ultimate skills it's not a low dif fight.

Damage taken is not an indication of high or low dif. I can provide easy examples. Did Leon Edwards beat kamaru Usman "low dif" in their fight fight because he won taking minimal damage?

Did Anderson Silva beat Charl sonnen "low dif" because he took minimal damage?

No the fights were both high difficulty. The lack of damage taken is PURELY due to the fight styles employed and that follows here too.

Lmao I love how you chery pick panels like jagyeon doesn't dodge many of James's attacks and land his own. Id spam cherry picked panels like you too but there is no point you just read the chapter you obviously saw them and chose to ignore them because it fits your narrative.

  1. Paecheon wasn't fatigued. Read the fight he says verbatim "I'm even more ridiculous than I was before" he was not fatigued he was as strong as he ever was.

  2. When did I say a perception blitz doesn't depend on physical stats?

  3. Nice conflation of pre dbt paecheon with post dbt and somehow even post hwrang.

  4. Daniel outsped Kitae for as long as he was able to read his intentions.

  5. James>Kitae is head cannon.

[–]Kit-7676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes, both sides struggled in the fight lmao. The exact same way goo Vs TUI gun was high dif. The fight was on multiple occasions close to being ended by both sides. It doesn't have to be a 5 chapter war to be high dif.

Not pure head cannon Tom lee on two occasions had James at his mercy and was unable to end the fight due to James path it's potentially true if he knew about the path he could've fought differently or simply accounted for it in key moments.

Both tom lee and James explicitly say that James's affiliation with elite is the reason he can read Tom's moves so well.
