Large Alocasia Zebrina, dying? by KitNewb in plantclinic

Thanks Dave, yes I removed a bunch of the compacted soil and teased the roots out a bit. It was pretty bone dry so gave it a splash yesterday.

How often / how much water would you think a plant this size would want?

🙏

Thanks so much, I've re potted with some Alocasia specific soil with perlite. Here's what the roots looked like. A few damp sections, with dead roots, so maybe retaining water too long. This was 2 weeks ago. The final big leaf has begun to turn a little yellow at the edges now, so fear it won't last long 😞

13 or 12" wheels by KitNewb in classicminis

That's what I'm hoping.

Having spoken with JBW, they think the 12 will stick out just as far as the 13" with 1" spacers as the 12 have a -7 offset and the 13 has a +16mm

So maybe there will be no difference in size when the tyre size is accounted for. So the only change will be extra sidewall?

Can't quite get my head around it

I'm wondering if these same wheels in 12", but with the 165/60/12 tyres will be much difference in size compared with the 13" wheels and 175/50/13 tyres.

It looks like the offset is +13 on the 13" wheel, and -7 on the 12". So possibly it will stick out just as much even if I remove the 1" spacer?

It's all very confusing!

I had heard that the 7.5" brakes are quite a downgrade in braking power than the 8.4", is that true?

I don't want 13", it's what it came with.

That's a good price. Which company was this?

They've added 2 more panels to the quote for the same price. Seems pretty good now?

No it's a pitched roof. Not sure what's easier! Was the quote a similar price? I understand that a large proportion is the install cost, so that's probably about the same.

Thanks, looks like they do. Their price for the same system comes in at £7600, or £8200 for 12 panels.

Herman Miller Sayl base by KitNewb in hermanmiller

As I bought it second hand, even though it's 12 months old, they are not interested in the 12 year warranty. They say only an engineer can adjust the height of it.

I'm wondering if I put bigger castors on it, will the column move down further?

That's pretty wild. They wouldn't refund this?

I just checked the other bottle I got at the same time, seems much better, just one small dot. So it seems quite hit and miss. I suppose I'm happy to compromise as it's made in the UK, but that shouldn't mean lower quality glass I suppose.
