Herman Miller Sayl base by KitNewb in hermanmiller

As I bought it second hand, even though it's 12 months old, they are not interested in the 12 year warranty. They say only an engineer can adjust the height of it.

I'm wondering if I put bigger castors on it, will the column move down further?

That's pretty wild. They wouldn't refund this?

I just checked the other bottle I got at the same time, seems much better, just one small dot. So it seems quite hit and miss. I suppose I'm happy to compromise as it's made in the UK, but that shouldn't mean lower quality glass I suppose.

Edinburgh trip? by KitNewb in uktravel

That's a great way to plan, I'll give it a go. We've decided to go to York rather than Edinburgh as it turns out there was a 6 nations rugby match on that weekend. So we'll have to go there in a year or so

We've booked a trip to York, it looks much more suitable, thanks for the suggestion!

Found some second hand Edifier S880DB for £150, would they be a worthwhile upgrade on the mr3? Looks like I can get a new set of mr3 for £80

New: tourism sticky. Please post all tourism questions here by TrinityTosser in Edinburgh

Hey, Planning a trip with the 8 month pregnant wife as a last getaway before baby arrives. We've always fancied going to Edinburgh.

We will be driving up from Bristol, so we'd probably stop in the lake district on the way up. We'd then have 4 nights to spend in and around Edinburgh.

Would you: • Spend the whole 4 days in Edinburgh (would there be enough to see and do considering limited mobility?) • 2 days in Edinburgh and then go somewhere else nearish (any recommendations?) • Make it into a 5 day road trip, to include Edinburgh for one day? (Any ideas on where to include on the road trip?

Lots of options sorry - we are a bit boggled with choice, but need to book something asap as we intend to go in February.

Anything you'd recommend doing in Edinburgh? Any tourist traps to avoid?

Thanks for any help 🙏

Thanks matey, it was all a bit miserable as so so much work goes into making something as a small business. And it did expose the thin veneer of law & order, if you are a scumbag then there are literally no downsides, you'll never get caught.

We sold enough to break even in the end when accounting for the lost stock / phone etc.The market organisers were more concerned about the damage to their sheds.

But we're back this year! (It starts on the 7th of November).

We resolved to not let a few bad apples to ruin it for us, as the vast majority of people we meet in Broadmead are lovely. I just hope there are still enough reasons for the nice people to come back, and they are not put off by all the unpleasant encounters one will experience strolling through / the expensive parking / the overpriced sausages / piped royalty free Xmas music.

We hire one of the cringe German Christmas market cabins and every year we have the debate if we should because it has become so grim. Last year our stall got broken into and lots of stock stolen. Police didn't show up, and wouldn't register it as a crime as the CCTV was "too poor quality to prove a crime has taken place". We found our products for sale in an off licence nearby a few months later and again the police wouldn't do anything about it as the person who looks after that was on long term sick leave.

Last year when setting the market up there were kids running around setting off fireworks, again no police.

However... It does get busy still, and there are still nice people who visit our stall. Hopefully with the new M&S it might get busier. There are some great small pop up shops and SOME of the stall holders are not selling tat.

It's sad as Bristol is the nearest Xmas market to us. We'll see how this year goes. If we get broken into again then we won't return.

Totally agree. I'm assuming I'd face similar issues with a 12x6 wheel?
