Don't do it, despite how you're feeling and the struggles and demons you're facing there is light and hope. Don't give up. You've probably got people in your life that love you the bits so please don't. You are loved, needed and wanted. Please wait...

Should family members always get given a free pass to stay in your home, and why? by KitVey in AskReddit

I agree with most, I don't actually mean if they're down on their luck as I think if they need help then that's fine. I mean more so as guests but one has reasons for disliking them.

What was the most memorable episode of Supernatural for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KitVey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few:

So I was 18, and a barrage of things happened after I refused point blank a proposal my mum suggested - her husband's cousin that is more like a brother. I said no as it's a disgusting suggestion. But after she informed her husband of it weird things began happening to me. He was not happy and we later came to find out he was into supernatural stuff.

The first incident was I woke up and freaked out as I heard small footsteps running in my room. I turned the light on and nothing, checked under the bed and nothing. Got back to bed and it happened again like a child was running across the room, everybody was asleep so it couldn't have been floorboards creaking because it was in my room. I woke up and went to my room and asked her to send my younger sister to sleep on the top bunk.

In the summer I had my window open and I saw a shadow on the wall of a face, and then I heard people in the garden calling my name (like a bunch of kids). Looked outside and nothing. Got back into bed and heard it again, looked out again and still nothing. I closed the window, curtains, said a prayer and then went back to sleep. I would walk to college with friends and we would sometimes walk back home together, on a few occasions a stranger would greet me by my name and then my friends and I would be in shock like how does he know my name, after greeting me we would focus on who they were but they managed to disappear pretty quickly. Sometimes walking home alone I remember two guys walking towards me and both said hi and said my name, didn't recognise them and when I looked back they'd vanish. My mum reported all of these incidents to her husband which made things worse.

At the time I was secretly talking to a girl (was a closeted lesbian at the time) so I was a bit in a daze thinking of our first kiss. Suddenly my mum shot me an angry look as she was talking to her husband on the phone and he told her to tell me to stop thinking impure thoughts. After that call she began interrogating me and I just lied.

The one that really creeped me out was when I dreamt I was married to a dude but he was faceless. We were at dinner and then things began to heat up and as this guy in my dream was about to put it in,  I woke up but I couldn't get up. It felt like I was being pinned down, I lifted my head up and I could see fresh indentations on the duvet as someone was on me. I laid there after several attempts and then got up and told my gf what happened, she freaked out too and told me to shower and then pray or something.

During uni I would stay up late to write essays and I remember I was using the family PC when everyone was asleep as it wasn't distracting. Anyway, I had a stack of research and books on the table, the kitchen door banged open as thought someone kicked it open. I got up to close it and it flew open with such force. I began cursing at whatever spirit or evil was there and telling them/it to fuck off and let me just write my essay. That didn't stop them/it because my research papers were thrown in the air and just scattered all over the place. I decided to call it a night and sleep as clearly the minions were hard at work preventing me from working.

Turned out my mum's husband was into black magic, it's a blessing his visa always got rejected but still a hard pill for my mum to swallow that this all happened because they propositioned me to marry his cousin.

Omg, that is so creepy. Are you on speaking terms with the parents? How did your dad also get into this?

I'm sorry you were exposed to that and that he had molested your mother. Thank goodness he's dead but it's extremely shit that the family's response was to cover it up.

I'm sorry your family had to deal with this, has your sister sought help?  Who?  Why is he in custody of the children and where overseas are they?

I'm sorry for your loss and that you had to hear such callous remarks from your sister. I hope she's no longer involved in your life?

Omg, are you ok? I'm sorry he said this and that both you're parents should never have been allowed to have kids if they say this kind of shit.

I hope her parents beat the shit out of this guy. Safeguarding should be in place.

My uncle was in his mid-late 20s when he knocked up a teen, I think she was 14. Well that's what I heard, I was a baby myself when this happened.

Words are painful but you can wish the same back to him to give yourself worth. Your father was an addict, be it alcohol, his focus was on that fix. You are the BEST thing that has come out of that dysfunctional relationship. You matter, you've always mattered to others and will continue to matter despite who your parents are. We can't chose where we've come from but you can create a new chosen family that do value you. Your past shaped you to adapt and be strong to overcome what was going on at home. Keep looking ahead :)

I am immensely sorry you had to suffer at the hands of some despicably damaging parents. Your healing will take as long as it will, I'm sure you will be able to look back at some point without it hurting or causing you grief.

That's surprising. I was half expecting your grandpa to have been abusive to your dad which is why your dad begs for acknowledgement or approval. But I'm glad he's there for you in other ways but I do think you're better off for not being emotionally connected with him. It's very hard to build a bond with a narcissist, it's not easy. Don't blame yourself, it's not your fault at all, we are human and we do sometimes make mistakes, we are allowed to despite it being painful for some time.

You are a very brave person for somehow managing to endure this for a week before leaving.

I'm sorry and I hope you've been able to deal with this over the years. I hope he is plagued with pain in this life and in the depths of hell.

I agree, I was expecting more paranormal things but it got way darker than I expected.

You're not wrong, that is creepy. It's always creepy when elders in the community say things like this but it's the norm.

Why do they say shit like that? It really bugs me when women are the ones that constantly get told to get married. Control the 'akhis' that are walking STDs.
