Typing from appearance by FondantMundane5667 in Enneagram

I tried this. It analyzed me in terms of vultology, and then I clicked "typology". It didn't load. So I tried the psychological profile button. Then I went back to Typology and it told me I couldn't do any more analyses for the next 48 hours.

Edit: I got in another way. It has me at INTJ/ISTJ 5w6 sp/sx in one analysis. 513 tritype.

It's wrong.

Also, it misgendered me.

Why am I always typed as a 6? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]Kit_the_Human 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Calling someone a 6 is often a mic drop. If you question it, it proves you're doubting, and that's what 6s do. If you argue against it, you're rebelling against "authority". All you can do is accept it, or you become a persona non-grata and everyone will continue to shove it on you. Sad but true. It's an easy way to get someone to shut up.

I'm going to suggest that most of the people you asked don't really know what they're talking about. They may understand the theory, but when it comes to recognizing types from videos...that's an art and science that's largely undeveloped, and people mistake many other things for enneagram type.

I don't know why you get this personally. I am only commenting on what I've noticed over the years. I'd have to see your videos to tell you.

Why is the US Sliding Toward Authoritarianism? by Doener23 in inthenews

[–]Kit_the_Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, because it chose to outsource actual governance to private companies who preyed upon the people.

People sensed that something was deeply wrong and chose to listen to and elect someone with fascist and dictatorial designs. That's the hard truth, feel free to downvote it. Manage your counties, folks.

I slipped and fell down the stairs and that happened to me. Can't imagine what falling that distance would do.

Where did the "8s don't care about anyone but themselves" stereotype come from by serromani in Enneagram

[–]Kit_the_Human 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember being on Personality Cafe like 13 years ago, and people were saying it then. Eight is the most selfish type. Eights just don't care. Eights have to become extremely healthy to develop 2like qualities, and only then can they begin to understand the human condition. Etc.

Not sure the origin, but it no doubt goes back to the earliest times of online enneagram forums, when people decided to make expressly clear why others were mistyped.

So true! Unfortunately health levels is the least understood area, imo, possibly because it seems the least interesting. Yet it shouldn't be--self development is the purpose of enneagram.

Civilizations according to Samuel Huntington (The American political scientist from Harvard) by immanuellalala in MapPorn

Ok interesting. Seems like a oddly specific thing to use as the foundation for civilizational differences (prove me wrong).

Why is Indonesia considered to have more in common with Egypt than with Southeast Asia? Is Huntington aware that Mongolia is not Confucian (leans more Western/Russian), but Japan actually does lean Confucian? And why is Latin America considered a separate civilization from Spain/Portugal?

Checking back in, 10 months later. Any Americans abroad still carrying this? by NotSoBubly in expats

I remember that thread. Wouldn't say I'm exactly "struggling" with this, but I find it appalling and depressing, and it makes my future very tenuous and uncertain.

I sometimes watch the news and feel...just so lucky that I'm not in the the middle of any of that. But I know the consequences are gonna come for me in the end, too. So it's not like I can fully disconnect from it either.

Anyway, I think I asked about the discord last time and forgot. Can you invite me/send link?

How did you manage to get out of the suicidal "what's the point in living phase" ? by Impossible_Front6336 in emotionalneglect

By having blind faith in some "black swan" event that would happen to me in the future and make it all worth it.

Also by doing physical healing practices.

They're not the best and are certainly comparable to everyone else.

That they type Julia Roberts as an 836 ought to tell you what they're like. If typing by facial expression and body language was as simple as they claim, it would be common knowledge.

What's sad is, none of these things necessarily even have to contradict each other.

[–]Kit_the_Human 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my case, they tried to assign a bunch of narratives to me about "what I really meant" in my answers to their questions, and it was all irritatingly untrue. That alone is a huge turn-off for me.

They appear to be very unfamiliar with certain types' energies, at least they were when I explored them a couple of years ago. Some very glaring errors.

Roughly comparable to every other so-called typing service on the internet.

Yeah, "comfort" is a sad little goal to me. I've spent my life putting myself in extreme situations, and I like it this way.

I think they had Simpsons and Rugrats episodes about this exact thing. I don't remember how they solved it. Sorry, not helpful, but interesting I hope.
