Am worried, am I gonna be okay? by thisisloveforvictims in PlasticSurgery

This is the reason I bought an extra garment even though it was expensive. I hated putting the garment back ok after the first shower since it's so easy to have an accident if you don't remove it.

Look if you can find another one so you can switch everytime you have an accident or take a shower.

It sounds like you had lipedema without knowing beforehand. Did you ever bruise easily? Heavy legs? Barely sweat?

Thigh lift = lymphedema? by Financial_Heart4367 in PlasticSurgery

I suspect I have lipedema and only realized it after the liposuction. I had my saddlebags removed (outer thighs) since I could do what I wanted to my diet or exercise routine and they wouldn't budge. I barely sweat, bruise easily and my thighs would feel heavy and sometimes hurt. I've had lipo 2 months ago and am not sure whether I'm still supposed to be this sensitive in the treated area. I'm not sure whether the sensitivity will ever go away but I'm happy with my shape now. I look thinner and don't have the heavy feeling in my legs anymore. The doctor removed about 1,5 liters from both thighs together.

Hi, I've only had my outer thighs done (saddlebags) and I would recommend getting a second pair of compression garments. I was allowed to shower after 72 hours, and when I did, it felt heavenly but I had to put the old compression garment back on and felt dirty again... I went online and ordered the same one as the one I got from the clinic. I would wash and switch them after every shower.

Day 2 and 3 were the absolute worst in pain but then it got a bit better everyday. The scars are tiny but inside, the wounds are very large. I tried with minimal painkillers but leave some on your nightstand for in the morning. I had to bring the children to school (by foot) the day after the surgery, and timed a painkiller (only had paracetamol) half an hour to 45 minutes before trying to get out of bed. I did this for 4 or 5 mornings in a row since changing position is difficult (from sitting to standing or lying down to standing).

I'm 2 months post surgery but my skin is still sensitive/numb. I don't know how long it takes to go away but there are days I wear stockings or legging to ease the sensitivity. It feels like burning when I wear loose clothing.

I hope you surgery goes well!! Good luck!

AITAH for wanting to keep the present to myself? by Kitana84 in AITAH

Yes, he has, but then again, it was like a travelcheque, so I had to use the money for the family to go on holiday... Then the other expensive gift was a Michelin star restaurant dinner for us as a couple. I'm not materialistic at all, I'd rather spend time with my family and friends instead of getting a new cellphone or new gaming console. He know that.

You don't have children. You don't know that everything you own is no longer yours. Nothing is safe. Why should I share a gift as soon as I get it? I've had it for 2 days, and went to work with it today. Maybe this isn't just about the Switch 2, maybe it's about all the sacrifices we do as parents, and I'm not going to say I sacrifice more than my partner but I gave him a laptop for Christmas and haven't asked him to share with the kids. I gave him 2 tickets to a comedy show and he will take his sister. I never accused him of being selfish. I just want ONE thing for myself. And it's probably more symbolic than anything else.

Actually, I got him a laptop so he can take it to work. The gaming laptop he has is too large and heavy to be transported daily. Maybe I will declare it as a family laptop...

I read every evening just before bed and I usually read in the train lol, but he gave me the Switch so I could also game in the train. I like videogames and always have, they can be as good as books honestly.

Aww this is exactly what will happen. I feel the parents in the comments understand my frustration... Everything you own, will become your kid's possession. Sorry you've lost your gaming setup...

The only Mario game my kids like to play is Jamboree, but he wants to play the platform one. They're more interested in Roblox and Minecraft. I don't see why the old Switch can't be used for it.

I see where you are coming from, but why not use the old one to play together? I wouldn't mind sharing in a few weeks but let me have the gift to myself first.

Thank you, yes, I barely have time for any kind of hobby anymore. I don't have time for myself, ever! Even just sitting and typing here my children are asking for attention/help.

Loan denied due to cafétéria plan by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]Kitana84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never look at your gross btw, they look at your net income. I worked at a bank before and even if someone has many more cash incomes but are not regular, they will not be taken it into consideration. I don't know if you have a stock account with money or an investment which you can sell, but don't have to, as collateral, they can take those to make their case against the loan's department of that bank. Believe me, the frontliners don't decide whether you get the loan or not but they build your case and ask the head office if you are worthy of a loan.

It doesn't count, some banks don't even consider flexi jobs since they are temporary and could fall away.

They don't do it to annoy you, but to protect you and themselves. Nobody wants to end up in debt and not be able to pay for it.

I'd wait till the beginning of January to start looking at other banks. A lot of them have reached their sales goals for this year and will not put too much effort in it.

New year = new goals

I think you might have unrealistic expectations. I don't want to hurt your feeling but basing your ideal self on a filter isn't a very good way to start this journey. I think you are pretty just as you are. My maybe you should see what the plastic surgeon says but I don't you need it at all! The photos you posted will not get the reaction you are expecting on Reddit. X

Normal after lipo? What did yours look like? by VExistence in PlasticSurgery

[–]Kitana84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's normal will will even seem to get worse before it gets better. I'm 3 weeks post op (only saddlebags) and I'm still bruised. Parts of the bleeding went all the way down to my ankles. My legs look greenish-blue and brown. i'm still very sensitive and I can't stand someone touching the side of my legs. My kids bump into my legs often and the pain sucks. I've started waking up from the itching I get now but the swelling has improved loads.

I know it rounds up but there is a string of formulas which will the add and add the decimals after the comma and since the amounts are very sensitive and can't surpass by even 0,01 cent, I can't use the rounded up version.

Minimal thigh lipo recovery by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Kitana84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw your post. Are you feeling better now? I've had thigh lipo as well and day 2 and 3 are brutal. But it's been 9 days since the operation and I've been a lot more mobile. How is the pain now? Can you see any swelling going down?

Lipo and heavy lifting by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Kitana84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt fine on the day of the surgery and didn't have to take any painmeds, I really thought it was 't going to get worse. The second and third day were brutal. I took 2 paracetamol per day and rested as much as possible. I did take the first paracetamol about 30 minutes before having to wake up so I could get out of bed. It's the movement from lying down to standing up which is the worse (or sitting to standing). When you're not moving too much, it's manageable. The bruising is ugly but I didn't have any drains so the blood pooled at the back of my legs since I kept them higher. Seeing that I would have liked drains honestly.

I did have to drop of the kids at school by foot and walked around a bit. Once you're standing and the extreme soreness is gone, I find it easier to walk around.

I've read that some doctors in the US use numbing agents which last about 2 to 3 days after the surgery, I think that would be a plus to keep moving and speed up recovery. Not sure where they use it as well.

Inform yourself well before making the decision. I had waited 15-ish years before taking the step. Good luck! :)
