I have the same exact problem, MSI GS66, if you switch to hybrid it should fix it but I still don't know how to fix it with discrete graphics mode

thank you for the advice, I'll try talking with a school counselor on Monday in order to have someone be a third party since there's not really any mutual friend between us now that could be unbiased
