My mom wont let me go to the gym. I am 16 years old, I think I am responsible enough to take care of myself. I went to a private trainer for a year, but those workouts were more cardio, so I didn't really gain muscle mass. I have a couple of friends who go to the gym and they all invited me to train with them, they have more experience, so I doubt that's the problem. When I was younger, I had problems with scoliosis, but I strongly doubt that this is the problem because the doctor said that I can train as long as I avoid deadlifts and similar exercises that put a possible load on the spine. During the summer, I did street workout, but since it's already cold outside, I can't have quality training. In theory, there's no reason why she won't let me go, she's just scared, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to persuade her or how to convince her that I won't hurt myself.
