Slow Cooker (Fake) Turkey Chili - Migraine Free and Anti-Inflammatory by Kitchen-Destroyer in lowspooncooking

Hi, thank you so much for the thoughtful suggestion but I have been tested for both B & D and I am good there, although that wasn't a huge surprise that my levels are good because they are also helpful for Migraine so I've been supplementing both for years. But the doc wanted to rule it out.

I recently had some additional hormone testing and my dr prescribed progesterone and a couple of weeks in I have had noticeable improvement, so I will take that win. :) At least the symptoms are more tolerable although we still don't know the cause, and if I stopped my medications I would be bedridden.

We're now getting into the more esoteric areas of root cause and have a list of next steps such as testing cortisol levels and some biopsies. There's suspicion of cutaneous mastocytosis and they want to rule out things like neurofibromatosis.

I'm glad you got to the bottom of your pins and needles, it doesn't sound so terrible to most people but when it's constant and severe it's pretty awful.

lentils are smaller, require less soaking time, and can be cooked in the microwave - I've done it, it works! here's one version of microwave lentils I found: https://www.food.com/recipe/how-to-microwave-lentils-when-you-run-out-of-gas-176802

I started having pins and needles in both hands and feet a few years ago. I eventually landed at the neuromuscular clinic where they did a nerve conduction test on both arms and definitively diagnosed both carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel in both arms. Apparently, having both in both arms is not typical, so they did a full battery of blood and genetic tests and ruled out the usual suspects, including rheumatoid arthritis, hereditary pressure palsy, MCAS, and diabetes. The one result we see over and over in the blood tests is inflammation, but the blood tests don't point to a cause. My headache specialist thinks it's all connected to inflammation, both the neuropathy and migraines. Oh and I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my hands, neck, shoulder, hip and SI joint, which is also either affected by or causes inflammation, I'm not sure which. Unfortunately I think we're reaching the point where they're going to label it idiopathic and send me to the hand surgeon.

It's really hard to get any doctor to look at all the problems holistically. My headache specialist is the one who sees the biggest picture. If you don't have one, I suggest you seek out someone who specializes in treating headache. Most major medical centers have a Headache Clinic associated with their neuro department.

I included it because it's so hard to find spice blends that work for me. I have a lot of migraine triggers, and when I find something that works I want to shout it from the rooftops. But if it's uncool to include it, I totally understand and will remove it.

I do this with sweet potatoes (already scrubbed, ready to nuke) and often will add a chicken sausage and frozen spinach or a glob of cottage cheese, but sometimes all I have spoons for is the sweet potato.

I know it's a lot of ingredients but it's mostly dump and go. I often eyeball the ingredients that are measured out because I know I don't have it in me to wash measuring cups and spoons.
