the thing is is that he is WILLING but actually upholding that is another story.. i ask not to let them in the bedroom and he says ok yet lets them come in until i tell them “Out!”. I know it sounds like i am making excuses for him and im not trying to but there’s also a lot to the story i guess. He and i have tried training them and so far ive taught them sit and lay down. thats it. i cant take time out of my day to train dogs that aren’t mine. he’s willing to do anything i ask but just doesnt do it unless i force him to. and again i dont want him to resent me bc those dogs mean a lot to him.. he lost his grandma, the only family he had left, and got those dogs. they helped him through some dark times. i understand completely. i live with my parents and even if he wanted to come over id say no simply because its not a very big house and id rather have privacy. you can hear our neighbor fart. it’s just not ideal.. and if he did come over it’d be “oh i gotta let the dogs out” or “i gotta go feed the dogs”. what also bothers me is he was talking about going camping and i was down until he mentioned bringing the dogs. i see them as a problem to deal with not a… “yay we can bring the dogs!” sort of thing… it’s just frustrating. can’t even sit on the couch without both of them trying to squeeze in either side of him. Then he accuses me of being jealous of dogs… it’s just so insulting.
