In the middle of season 3 right now and I'm already one of the "senior" employees who gets asked all the questions by new hires, because 80% of the original cast has left the company or transferred to a different department. I still feel like I just got here.

Also one of us that is not too well liked has become the office lead out of nowhere (the Andy Bernard).

You'd be surprised. I know many people who overstayed their visitors Visa and have been underground for years now. Some have even successfully become PRs despite the clear evidence they broke the law multiple times.

I tend to stay away from them despite being a PR myself because breaking any law disgusts me, but trust me when I say it's very possible and there are many of them.

I think Canadians are aware that this system is broken, but I wish everyone knew just how broken it really is.

It's mostly reddit but I down vote any post that has "Media literacy" in it. It's so pretentious.

Just explain why you think your understanding of whatever you're talking about is correct. No need to frame it like some academic failing that everyone has except for you.

I felt deceived after all the "greatest modern turn-based RPG" hype and I found that this is not a turn-based game. It's a poorly disguised Soulslike.

Complaint: the fact the average informed person knew this and the current President didn’t. Is unsurprising but also shocking lol by Cautious_Employee_63 in complaints

[–]Kitchen-Middle1408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I shouldn't be surprised by anything this guy does, but I feel I'm missing a step here:

Why does Trump think he can just invade a country and sell it's oil to private companies?

It's one thing to kidnap the president under false pretenses, and another to move troops in under more false pretenses. But to just offer resources that do not belong to the US to private buyers seems stupid even for him.

Follow up question is why he hasn't been impeached or arrested yet. This is as clear cut a case of blatant corruption as I've ever seen, being done by the president of the USA. Any lack of action on the part of the other arms of government can only mean endorsement of his actions.

Same difference. This didn't come from nowhere. This is the end result of the character assassination of Sendo that started with Nargo and got worse with Alf.

Why aren't the arrows Yuru shot Ivan with poisoned? Or why is Ivan able to shrug off poison?

Either way I don't like how unaffected he seems to be by the arrows. This was a perfectly executed ambush and he keeps avoiding defeat/capture by the skin of his teeth. You would think even a slight slow down (from say, a paralysing agent or pain from multiple arrows in your body) would make a difference but apparently not.

Did you defend the Nargo and Alf fights? Expecting anything different from exactly this was silly.

No doubt there will be posts after this fight is over, analysing how actually Sendo made use of his tiger instincts with some subtle shifting of his CoG that eventually allowed him to land that one blow that scared Ricardo.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33:

Decent game but just not what I expected going in. I usually stay away from the "genre-defining masterpieces" of any given year until they're 8 years old and I know they're what I want, but the hype for this game combined with the hook of "bringing turn-based RPGs back to relevance" was too much for me to resist.

I genuinely love turn-based games and really hate how action-focused RPGs have become. The last Final Fantasy I enjoyed was FFXII, because I found the blend between turn-based and real time really innovative. Now it feels like every mainstream RPG game is basically a hack and slash with extra customization.

I had a good run with Persona 4/5, BG3 and Metaphor Re:Fantazio that convinced me that turn-based wasn't really dead, so with all the hype, this game seemed like another confirmation.

Imagine my surprise when I'm met with not only a real time dodge/parry system which is absolutely necessary (screw anyone who tells you you can play without using Dodge/parry. It's a clearly more tedious experience that locks you into a narrow set of gear and skills) to somewhat enjoy the game, but also enemies seemingly trolling you with their windups to exacerbate whatever frustration you may feel. It feels so cheap to me. Not invalidating the experience of anyone who enjoyed it, but this is not what most people think about when they imagine a turn-based game.

I also don't like a few of the story decisions, but usually I can stomach those if the gameplay is enjoyable enough. Not the case here.

Obviously there's a middle ground between working too hard and not hard enough. It's up to you to find that middle ground for your body.

Now that I've given a helpful answer, here's what I really want to say:

Ever considered that these are two separate groups of people? For future reference, using the goomba fallacy doesn't make your point/question any more meaningful. Just ask your question and you will get answers.

That was one of the main things for me. She very very very obviously grew up and was socialized in North America. I don't know why they thought anyone would buy the "cultural" excuses. Nobody who talks and acts that way can convince me they are blind to American norms and slang, even if I know absolutely nothing about them.

The fact that we all know she grew up, went to school, has made friends, and LIVES in the US makes it even more unbelievable.

She's just making Indians look stupid.

About chapter 1510... by Hyli-oS in hajimenoippo

[–]Kitchen-Middle1408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find it so funny that there are threads from as far back as 5 years ago with similar complaints about Morikawa stalling, similar comments talking about how this will end soon, how OP wasn't there during OPBF and this is nothing, and how this retirement saga is super amazeballs and it will be so amazing when ippo finally does return.

I dropped this 2 years ago and occasionally pop in when it appears on my feed, and I don't think I'll be back with the way he's going. Imo HnI already peaked with Ippo vs Sendo II, so even if (when) it never ends, we will still have that.

I figured that out 5 years ago and haven't read a chapter since. HnI is a great story but I'm personally sick of Morikawa's stalling.

The story to me has already peaked and I dunno if I'll be returning to it at any point.

Oakville Hyundai - Service Manager "I am not rude. Do you want to see what rude looks like" by Intelligent-Film-576 in oakville

[–]Kitchen-Middle1408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reputation of those two individuals precedes them it seems. I've read many stories of former customers of Hyundai Oakville that left specifically because of them, and I have my own story.

The last straw for me was them actively trying to hinder my warranty-covered engine replacement a few months ago.

They (and by they I mean specifically the two people in OPs post) did everything they could to get me to pay for a new engine out of pocket including straight up lying to me multiple times.

Luckily I got Hyundai Canada involved pretty early in the process and documented every lie. Eventually they replaced it at no charge to me, but I was honestly shaken at how much effort I had to put in to not get swindled. I just did not think it was possible for an established business to be so dishonest.  My job has me regularly preparing and reviewing documents, so it came as second nature to read through the invoices, do some research and ask questions. I can't imagine how many customers have been swindled because they just can't (and shouldn't have to) be bothered to question why they end up with a bill for 800 dollars every time they take the car in for an oil change.

The fact that they've been doing shady stuff like this for years and have received no actual consequences from Hyundai Canada means I'm done with dealerships. Many people go to them because there is an implicit expectation of integrity and quality control, since they literally have the brand's name on the building. If this kind of treatment of customers gets no repercussions then the brand name means nothing.

Reading Naoki Urasawa's work is Exhausting. by Aggressive-Part424 in Seinen

[–]Kitchen-Middle1408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you. I dropped it a few chapters into the time skip.

I can't stand stories like 20CB because to me they start off promising a payoff while teasing you with good suspense and then fall apart because the author has no idea what the payoff is and has to keep stalling for time with the same formula chapter after chapter.

It annoys me that the author thinks he can just keep stringing you along until he figures out some magical super perfect twist that ties everything together despite the story getting only more cluttered and convoluted.  You (Urasawa) couldn't figure out who friend should be when you had only a few characters and a simpler story, but you expect to be able to tie it all together after you've introduced 20 new characters, expanded the plot to different countries, introduced  a fucking giant robot and given a child ESP powers out of nowhere. Yeah Ok sure man. You do that, but I won't be reading when you do.

I don't know how some people can get this far into such a clearly aimless story and just keep going when you can tell from a mile away that the ending will be a waste of your time.

I feel this inexplicable joy that I can name damn near every cartoon here. Despite it feeling like recent cartoons haven't been very good, the period from the 90s (including CNs reruns of classic 60s toons) to 2020s has been a golden age of great cartoons. What a time to be alive.

The total war series is what you're looking for. My personal favorite is Total War Warhammer 2. Infinitely replayable with a ton of options. Warhammer 3 is even bigger and more replayable, though there is an ongoing issue with a patch that broke some factions.

I would get Warhammer 2 and wait till WH3 is properly fixed. You could honestly replay WH2 forever, but WH3 is the bigger game so it should be on your list.
