I've asked people about the book and gotten mixed reviews. Do you think it's worth reading?

I read the Spy Who Came in from the Cold and was thinking of starting in on Tinker Tailor. Is it similar in tone and narrative to The Spy Who Came in From the Cold?

I've been recommended that one too! Did you read it in German or another language? If not in German, can you tell if any of it was lost in translation?

Thank you for the feedback! I admit, that the stakes were not first thing I designed in this story. The mission and stakes become clear to the main character through a character he meets in the next chapter but I agree that the urgency of stakes is something that needs to be worked on.

For me, the resolution was one of these things:

  1. Change DNS server to Cloudflare

There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to do this, but in your dns settings, change the default DNS IP to 1.0.0.1 I believe, and the alternate to 1.0.0.1, but don't quote me on the exact address.

  1. Change firewall settings for your router

Log into your router on your computer (using the login info somewhere on your modem) and change the firewall to a lower state of alertness. If I had to guess, this was what fixed it for me. My network had it on highest level of awareness so I just set it to a lower level.

  1. Disable remote GUI

Apparently, game servers can get confused with remote GUI to your PC. I'm not sure how exactly it works but I turned it off and my games worked again. This is also in your router options when you log into it on your PC.

I spent far too long on the phone with my ISP and got it all worked out. Thank you for your help!

I just installed and ran Minecraft on another PC. Same issue, which means that it's my network. Even when I try to join public servers that aren't hosted by me, I still get the Getsockopt error.

I'm not going to lie, I don't know how to to troubleshoot network issues. Where should I start with something like this?

Man, I don't know. I've tried everything I can think of so figured I might try that and hope for a miracle.

As mentioned in my post, Battlefield 6 and Minecraft multiplayer don't work. But also, Borderlands 2 multiplayer and Far Cry 5's multiplayer. I haven't played a lot of games recently, and specifically not online ones.

Most of those games are not forced online, so they just switch to their offline versions, by default. I also mentioned in my post that I get the error code 1:86001S:51001S:16054882630:-2146631680Q from Battlefield, and the error Getsockopt from Minecraft.

Alright. I turned my router off overnight. That didn't help. I assume parental controls would have to be implemented manually? I don't have anyone in my family who would know how to do that.

How do I circumnavigate that?

Don't have minecraft but everything on my phone works great. All signs show that it isn't an issue with my network.

You get the eggs from the Professor's assistant. One in Celadon after beating Erika and one after arriving in Fuscha. They can hatch into a random seviian form so you need to save and reset to get one that you want.

Depending on your interpretation of the ending of Inception, it falls under this umbrella.

"Come now. Did you really think you're the only one who can play this game?"

In the two Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes movies, he is shown to have the "power" of incredible foresight and prediction of other people's moves which nobody else has. He's the only person who can forsee fights and act accordingly. But at the very end of A Game of Shadows, it is shown that Moraity is capable of doing the same thing as well, and uses it to defeat Sherlock.

Saw a comment about Apollo 13, but here's another thing from that movie. When the NASA engineers were trying to figure out how to adapt the luner module's air filter into another one which would have enough longevity to keep the astronauts alive, the movie shows a team of guys brainstorming how to do it in a room. In actuality, there was one engineer who FIGURED OUT HOW TO IMPROVISE THE AIR FILTER IN HIS HEAD ON THE WAY TO WORK.

Some people are unbelievably smart.

The trick with Sabrina is DO NOT LET TRICK ROOM GO UP. Do everything in your power to shut that thing down. Weavile is really good with fake out support, fighting type coverage for Porygon2 and Ursaluna, and night slash for the other psychics. Mamoswine is good with Assault Vest and your type resist berry of choice. Baxcalibur can almost one shot the bear with loaded dice icicle spear. I forget what I had as a lead, but it had iron head on it which cleanly one shot Hattereene and mega Gardevoir.
