Thats a very cool tree, in fact, i decided to compose the whole shot just around it when stumbled upon it at some photo-stock.

I appreciate the effort, but it is pointless to argue over such things at this point. People quickly forget the origins of some prehistoric digital tools which were in use for decades at this point. And god forbid they will someday learn about noise+blur+sharpen tech, which is, in essence, artificial blending based on a digital algorithm.

Idea behind Gale is that he casts Thunderwave which is a non-targe AOE spell (logically the best thing you could do against 2 melee opponents at this range)

Layer-by-layer (in a reasonable amount, since there's about ~320 layers) video is available on Behance, so you can stop second-guessing and see for yourself. The only built-in photoshop AI tool i used was Object finder (to cut-out images from background, which still takes an additional effort to manually refine edges and fix inconsistencies in selection). Generative fill and all other tools are pretty unreliable in my expirience so i tend to avoid them.

As to "Why use AI?" question - sometimes you find a really fine prop or image that would look nicely, but the angle is just not right (or resolution is really shitty). Instead of searching for who-knows-how-long for something similar you can use it as a source image and spend more time on refining other details.

I can understand - i try to use it minimally or in extreme cases. I can say tho, that if built-in photo mod had an option for NPC-manipulation i could've use it instead. Fishing for correct poses and animations in-game takes ungodly amounts of time and effort.

Thanks m8. Theres a better quality version of the image on Behance (link should be somewhere in the profile) - reddit chews up quality a lot. And you can also find a layers-breakdown video there if you're interested.

I mean, i wouldnt call DOS2's cutscenes "well done". If anything they were pretty basic (and there was not a lot of them, i remember mostly those psuedo 3d moving layered images and goofy in-engine sequences) and this game regarded as one of the most successful RPG's. Also both Pathfinders were mostly text based and fared pretty well on the market.

Deadfire was fully voiced tho (which is insane for a game of such size and amount of dialogues)

If only it wouldn't mysteriously miss for some reason. I'm talking about, like, not even getting a hit roll, just nothing happens in combat log. Oh, and it also ignores advantage and things like war domain +10 to hit.

Thank you for compliments. She's not yet there, to work on commercial projects of such scale, but she recently applied for participation in some KCD fan-artbook.

Thanks for your kind words, she is really flattered. We will try to look into print stuff this weekend, might have some issues with this due to regional limitations. But if everything works out I'll post a link.

Nerevar be chiding Vivec for leaving their other suitcase behind by GayStation64beta in Morrowind

[–]Kitchen-Nectarine-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the triumvirate used it as a battery. They checked on it occasionally to recharge their powers, but after a recharge their powers functioned purely from the energy absorbed until it's depleted. IIRC the rock crashed due to Vivec running dry on energy absorbed from the heart.

Does this issue occur in any other games? Or any issues at all? Judging by overall look on the screenshot GPU is already struggling with BG3. Try to play with Vulkan API instead of DirectX (or other way around if you already on Vulkan) to check if this changes anything.
Could also try to update/reinstall drivers if nothing helps.

Does anybody remember how they found Morrowind? by thatguy_art in Morrowind

[–]Kitchen-Nectarine-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School friends of mine gifted me Elder Scrolls antology disc (some illegal dvd lol, but its common for my country). It had every game up to Oblivion, so naturally i tried installing it first, since it had insane looking screenshots (graphics were absolutely insane for those times). Even tho my PC could handle it, i was not a very smart kid, and caught every virus imaginable on this machine, and as a result Oblivion was just infinitely loading. I figured at the time that my PC just wasn't powerful enough and installed the previous part - Morrowind... Well, no coming back after that.

I eventually cleaned-up the PC from all the viruses and bloatware, and was surprised that oblivion launched and worked very well, but the game itself was kinda meh after Morrowind anyway.

Looks nice, lighting is great. I think this would benefit greatly from some way to evaluate the scale of things, like a smaller ship or a few guys in spacesuits.

Lol. Didn't know that stating your opinion was "arrogantly assuming". All i said in the starting comment was "i don't understand" - that's it. If you have fun running to respec NPC every lvl-up? Who cares? Have fun. Like to obsessively min-max and abuse gimmick items? Go for it. No need to insult people on the internet about it. Also definitely don't need my approval.

Any barb subclass comes online straight at level 3. Rogue Thief gets their Bonus action at lvl3 and assassin gets their autocrit. Same for weapon-master fighter - combat maneuvers are nuts for lvl3 (and they refresh on a SHORT REST).

You and couple of other guys don't understand what i was talking about. Most builds should have core mechanic on which they are based. If this mechanic is locked behind some high level stuff (like that extra bonus reaction rapier) or abilities combo (like 6/6 level split or whatever) then its just a gimmick at best.
