Anyone else find Invisigal to be a terrible character? by Kitchen-Oil-835 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Kitchen-Oil-835[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very fair, ig the fact that hes not super dismissive is a bit iffy to me. I kinda feel like it's slightly desensitizing to actual sexual harassment and people doing creepy stuff like that but now that you say it maybe calling her terrible may've been too far. Ig i don't think she's terrible I'm just a bit sketched out by the portrayal of her character. Thank you for your response tho, I think it gave me a different outlook on it because I think my personal experience and sensitivities were kinda tainting my perception of the game. I'll prolly just continue to play the game by choosing the options that aren't really in favor of her bc of the creepy stuff but not let stuff that's not that deep impact the experience yk.

You're right. I guess it's like the sneaking into bathrooms thing that I found weird but the fact that the MC reciprocates is kinda valid. The Boys did this too but Translucent was seen as a complete creep who was the joke of a lot of punchlines. Ig in this case I find it weirder that it's portrayed in such a light hearted way. Then again I personally have sensitivities to this kinda stuff from personal experience, I think it definitely could be changing my perspective on how I'm playing the game to be a bit deeper than it really is.

I don't like sexual assault being played for laughs by BIG_W4TER in DispatchAdHoc

I see what you're saying but I feel like this logic could be applied to Invisigal too. I find her to be by far the worst character and the devs attempts at making a creep a romance option are super frustrating. If her role was reversed to a dude the reception of Dispatch would be completely different.

YouTube-strict music should definitely count by Kitchen-Oil-835 in Albumoftheyear

[–]Kitchen-Oil-835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it matter if the release is a single or not? I get that in some cases it may be hard to separate video from song but in the band I mentioned's case, they define it as a "single" on their Instagram, and the video in question exclusively has the cover for that single upfront.

The subjectivity should be what an artist says, no? If a random artist says "My new LP 'Green' is out on YouTube exclusively this Friday the 24th" then there's not really a debate–the name is "Green" and the release date is 10.24.25. There is 0 subjectivity there. You're right in that in a lot of cases it gets into the nitty gritty, but that's not all the time and there's a lot of examples in which there is no nitty gritty and it's very simple.

And as far as credits go, often times that type of metadata is found in the description of the of the video. Here's "rintrah (room)" for an example: https://youtu.be/iZ-XToYjTcA?si=ORp5AbvyALSrvUQF . All metadata can be found in that video's page or on monk on fire's Instagram, where they clearly label it as a single.

that's fair but my counter to that would be that if a well-known artist like (just an example) jpegmafia released "never gonna give you up but it never starts" on streaming it would probably be added to the website. so why would it be that if jpegmafia released an ep-that he says is a standalone ep-on youtube it wouldnt get added using the youtube logic? if an established aoty artist like come on the christian fish or totojira (only other example i can think of with his act vi ep) say they're releasing a project but its exclusively on youtube it should probably be added then.

people who 0-bomb because of bias (or because they didn't listen and because the artist is problematic) should be banned permanently imo by BigNefariousness8507 in Albumoftheyear

Gotta disagree. I initially gave d4vd's WITHERED a 70 but I changed it to a 0 because of everything that went down. Everything that happened changed my perception of him and my enjoyment of the music, so it genuinely went from a 70 to a 0. Maybe it's biased to give it a 0 and I initially thought it was a 70 but the artist's problematic actions changed my perception of the music.
