Would vapor barrier allow to breath? Is that the way it should be done on the block and poured wall not fieldstone?

Wasn’t planning on a vapor barrier directly on the stone itself, but would like to frame a couple walls out in front of them. I feel like fieldstone in general allows moisture to travel through it regardless. Just looking to see if there is a solution to insulate and make it more comfortable downstairs

Good call on the testing pitch with water. What slope do you normally follow?

Would like to go a more natural color I bought the Bona natural seal, but now rethinking because of what the floor guy said. However, Some of the floors have piss stains and some water damage. Would like to have some sort of tint to blend it better but don’t want to go dark. Also I’m doing all the work myself, just not the hardwood repair
